South Sydney hooker Issac Luke is facing up to four weeks on the sidelines after he was charged by the NRL match review committee with a Grade 2 Dangerous throw on Tuesday morning.

Luke was charged for his 17th minute tackle on Roosters centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall during the Rabbitohs' dramatic 24-22 victory at Allianz Stadium on Monday night.

The Rabbitohs hooker will serve a three-match ban with an early guilty plea, but would face up to four weeks on the sidelines if he fights the charge at the NRL judiciary and loses.

It is a huge blow to the Rabbitohs with Luke in stellar from for the club this season, leading the team in line-break assists (14), total runs (243), average runs (15.2), offloads (36), is second in total metres gained (1933), tackles (455), tackle-breaks (64) and ranking third at the club in try-assists (7).

South Sydney will have until midday on Wednesday to enter a plea.

The Rabbitohs take on the Dragons in Round 20, Wests Tigers in Round 21, the Titans in Round 22 and the Sea Eagles in Round 23.

wow 😱pen_mouth:

Unlikely given his previous record which does include dangerous throws. The guy is a quality player but his discipline is horrid.

Good he will miss the game when we play the rabbits, now we just need Greg inglis to miss our game too
