Depth is the key to any successful footy team, depth and players earning their spot based on form and the effort they put in around the club.

Coming off a big off season, coming off excellent State Cup form and coming off back to back high pressure moments where he has stood up late in the game to win the match it is time Blake Austin is rewarded for that effort.

Consistency and leadership would have been the things he was asked to work on, he has.

He can not do more.

Braith is not going to get dropped. He is doing an ok job, but lets face it he is only their for his experience in guiding Brooks. Austin would provide us much more creativity and speed from that position. If Teddy is out for 6 weeks, I think they need to find a couple of different areas to attack in and the 6 jersey would be one i would think about.

Only two possible place which I can find for Austin at the moment if Tedesco is unavailable for firsts. One is centre and the other which will surprise a lot of people is wing where he can use his speed, evasion and cross kicking skills.

The jump from NSW Cup to NRL is huge and I dont think he is as dominant as many 'make-up' he is.

I feel Blake will play a role in a run to the Finals if we are in the hunt. At that stage of the comp, we will be looking for an X-Factor at certain stages within games, and this is where Blake could be best used.

Anasta is probably our most consistant player this year and is basically running the team. This is really important and is allowing for Luke to settling in and out of games as they change. Austin will change this balance and it will force Brooks to not have the luxury he currently is now given.

His time will come when we need him!

Anasta is making errors that a veteran playmaker shouldn't be doing. Consistent in some areas and frustrating in others.

I hope he is charged and misses a week so we get Austin up and see how he fairs.

I think if you treat people that way they will let you down when you call on them. No one likes their best and most concentrated efforts to be ignored.

If you have depth you have to reward it when it delivers.

With Anasta in doubt this looks a certainty now.

In my mind it was going to happen regardless, not suggesting Anasta would be dropped but Austin HAD to be selected.

I think AUstin has made his way into the side the way i like to see it, by banging the door down in lower grades.

He has been dominant every week in NSW cup and now he gets an opportunity it is well deserved.
