IYO: UNDERRATED & OVERATED

Smith is extremely overrated.

Being a solid defender, a decent kicker and good leadership qualities is about all he has. He's slow compared to most hookers and he's not dangerous at all. Being the captain of his club, state and country is attributed to his consistency and his leadership, not his flair and ability.

Anyone saying slater is overrated has rocks in their head.

if he was a kiwi he would not nearly be as well regarded.

Smith above any other player in the game takes the right option virtually every time and is the best hooker I have ever seen

If I was asked which player the Storm or Qld could afford ill afford to lose it would be Smith The reason JT looks so good in a Qld jersey is Smith

Cant believe people think Smith is overrated….Makes me believe that some just do not notice the impact he has on the field. In Origin 2 last year, Cronk and JT were not making good ground from their kicks late in the game, The pigs were buggered and were being hammered by the nSW forwards. Enter Cameron with 2 perfect kicks from dummy half both of which pinned NSW down their own end and gave the QLD boys the boost to go on with the win.

He does stuff like that all game, every game, at every level. He gives superb service to the halves with clean fast ball, he gets the forwards over the line, he scores tries, kicks goals, provides stiff defence in the middle that slows the play the ball down, is a leader of men and reads the game very well which leads to him consistently making the correct decision on what to do next play. On top of that he seems extraordinarily strong and possesses no fear.

As ridiculous as it sounds, maybe Smith belongs in the underrated column going from responses to this thread :sunglasses:

**Underrated -**
* Mitch Brown - Started showing some skills towards the end of the doggies season - I think they should give him first crack at fullback, someone needs to tell him he's big and fast, as he seems to already know he's reliable.
* Brad Tighe
* David Simmons
* Bryson Goodwin
* Jack Buchanan
* Michael Ennis - I know what y'all thinking - "_**Wrong Heading Underdog!**_" however this is only since being overlooked for Origin duties. He went from being a passenger with the Bulldogs to starting the wrestle some additional play from dummy half over the last 12 months - It might con-incide with the Dogs losing depth and having playmaker issues, however the last 12 months has seen Ennis improve without any fanfare.

Probably more I could put here, but can't think of any right now.

**Underrated - Years gone by**

* Darren Senter - CRIMINALLY underrated player.
* Darren Britt
* Steve Edmed
\
\
\
**Overrated**

* James Segreyarro - Not as clever as everyone thinks he is IMHO.
* Jamie Soward
* Gareth Widdop - he's got nothing without quality players around him - watch him struggle at the Dragons this year.
* Manu Vatuvei
* Luke Walsh - PUT UP A BOMB WALSH!
* Greg Bird - I put a heavy asterisk here - **only when he plays for the Titans** - for NSW, and Australia, as much as I hate the guy, he grows a third leg.
* Josh Papalli - Solid, Dependable, disappears when the Raiders are getting flogged, yet gets an Australian Jersey?
* Brent Kite - The original Cream-puff. The mind boggles beyond belief as to how this guy gets picked for anything. Consistently Dominated in tackles despite being almost as tall as Dane Tilse. Seen him miss tackles on men much below his weight. Must have nude pictures of Geoff Tooveys Wife or something.

**Overrated years gone by**

* Phil Blake - the orginal journeyman - and a reason for it.
* Brad Mackay
* Tim Brasher - ONCE he left the Tigers
* Craig Field
* Hazim El-Masri - I'll cop hate for this one, but take away his goal kicking, and he's a weaker, slower, less aggressive version of Matt Utai.

My two cents lads.
