OFFICIAL Jack Bird

So by the sounds of it we might have a weekly centre rotation of
Olam/Doueihi/To’a/Bird. 🔥 🔥 🔥
Hopefully at least ONE of them is fit and healthy each week throughout the season. Maybe we can cut them in half and swap some lower limbs around to make sure of it.

Not seen Bird play much but if he can be a forward like most are saying then I’d say it’s a reasonable signing for a utility role on the bench (or even starting) with TDS to replace Api, 2 other specialist forwards and Bird to do whatever is needed. Also good for depth when we inevitably have 10 injuries at once again. Unfortunately, it seems like Jack will also probably be injured when this happens 🤷‍♂️.

Another thing is that this adds to the long list of 2025 contracted Tigers players with a first name beginning with J. Jack, Jahream, Jarome, Jayden, Jeral, John*, Jordan, Josh, Justin, Justin. Who’s next?
You will be next 😂 - Jarred - see what happens when you asked questions. lol

We're still signing injury prone has-beens, but at least we're not paying overs for them or making them the fulcrum of our sides anymore. Nice one.
If it means players like Faataape aren’t in our strongest 17, I can deal with it.

Hey don't give away the secret about how good it is up here
On holidays up here for a couple of weeks. It's beautiful 😍

On topic, I'm pleased to see the Bird signing because it's a short contract, on reasonable money, and he should fill a gap. Not a hasbeen on a long contract on overs. Looks like the days of being bent over are gone 🤞

Won’t Bird want a chip shop?
a few years ago, 'Star footy player Jack Bird eats so much McDonald's his teammates have given him a new nickname - 'Burgie'.'

I hope he doesn't eat as much these days, surely its not great for a professional athlete?

I'd take 2013 Joel Reddy or 2014 keith Lulia or 2017 Idris or 2021 James Roberts over Faataape 🤣 anyday haha
Not sure what it is about him but I think Faataape has got something and could well be a very good player one day.

If you want to talk about the abilities various players had at different times in their playing careers, maybe we should talk about 2026 faataape.

I've been reluctant to comment on the Jack Bird signing because I haven't been sure what to make of it..

He's been injured and underdone for a long period of time. It hasn't clicked for him at the dragqueens.

The fact he's moving for less money indicates to me that he has something to prove.

If he hits the form of old, or 70%, he end's up a great signing.

Not great for anyone, and a regular takeaway shop burger has got to be better?
