Jahream Bula #269

Congrates on his debut. Has anyone seen him play ? Thoughts ?
I've always preferred Junior Tupou as a prospect personally, as I find Bula has a lot more errors and positional deficiencies.

BUT, Bula's ball-running is electric when he's on, very smooth mover.

Glides a bit like the Hammer when he finds some space.

Let’s get him in some space.

Congrats to him and looking forward to seeing him play.
IMO he should be on the wing for a while to get into the game speed of the NRL and help him develop. We have Stains here who just played the best game for us and now he is moved to wing..

Congratulations to the young man on his debut. Hope he kills it.

Oh God... JAC flashbacks. The halves aren't really that great at putting people through gaps...

Very excited to see how he goes after all I've read here.

I do agree a few weeks on the wing with Staines at 1 would've been my move, but hope he carves it up.

Good luck to him.

Being thrown to the wolves after a month off by an incompetent coaching group
That is my take also - Staines played really well last game yet the coaching staff are saying to him thanks but no thanks - Staines only on a 1 year contract and will most likely leave if keeps being treated like this.
I have zero faith in this coaching set up.

That's what I have been wanting to have happen for Staines, but still waiting.

I have a couple of questions about Bula's selection this week and they are:

Did we get some sort of dispensation from the NRL to be able to play Bula before round 11, and if so, on what grounds?

OR

Has he been promoted to the top 30? If that is the case I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere?

Good luck to him but I would imagine that Staines would have to be pretty frustrated not getting much of a chance to cement his spot at full back, and this constant chopping and changing of the spine is getting to be a bit of a joke.

That’s the thing that try he scored was off a kick return. If you need your halves to create all your tries you aren’t going to win often.
So you're saying the tigers need their halves to create all their tries then?

Im saying our halves are struggling and our outside backs don’t create anything. The result is we can’t score points. I’m sure other teams game plan is to put pressure on Brooks because they don’t fear anyone else.
Also notice in those highlights he's always around the ball in just about all those trys.

Well the story is unfolding, we can now see that the club has sealed the fate of both Laurie and Staines , with bula given the nod over both I think we can say neither will be at the club next year , and I though Staines done a great job last week , bar one mistake

Has tons of athleticism and talent....

BUT...he is dramatically inexperienced, barely played 2 games in State Cup...AND been out injured the past month.

I.e. no match fitness.

And we are going to throw him in v DCE, who has possibly the best kicking game in the comp.

Hell of a debut for the kid. The deepest of deep ends.
