Jake Mullaney

Will be interesting to see how Mullaney goes for Parra (Wenty) against us in the State Cup this week.
It wasn't that long ago everyone was talking him up like Tedesco is currently being lauded.
Personally I thought Sheens should have given him a chance at top level last year - especially with all the injuries we had.
Also wonder why he went to Parra of all places with Hayne moving back to fullback.
Anybody know why he did choose Parra - or were they his only option?

I highly doubt his form (lack of form) warranted selection in NRL… Jake simply hasnt gone on with it now he is running at boys who are prepared to tackle.

I hope he turns it around, as he was a excitement machine as a kid, but I'd say he would be 3rd possibly 4th inline over at Parra as a Fullback option.

Change of scene could be what he needed.

This isn't meant as offensive but Jake was one of those young guys who needed to be told how great he was all of the time to maintain confidence. He fell hard after the praise and exposure of the NYC comp. Kearney may have the approach to get the best out of him.

He can still create brilliant plays but his defence was woeful and he lost all confidence under the high ball last season

Tedesco hasn't done half the things Mullaney did yet Tedesco looks like getting a start in the NRL when Mullaney couldn't. Why ?

Only difference so far is the way they both train..Sheens loves good trainers he knows that under fatigue and pressure the players who train best will perform best. Mullaney was not a star trainer in particular with the wrestle. His mum also getting invloved immediately resulted in the "Never to play NRL stamp at Tigers"

I think he has been terribly advised going to Parra but Not sure any other club was interested Clubs like St. George and Roosters would have provided more opportunities.

Mullaney did come from the clouds in NYC, he didn't really excel all the way through and of his NYC, only 1 of the years he was outstanding.
Tedessco definately hasn't got the NYC experience Mullaney, but he dominated all through lower levels, played Aussie schools ans seemed destined at a young age.
I see them as different kettle of fish.

Mullaney was rated by people on this forum. Tedesco is rated by people who have been around top grade football for decades. Mullaney showed promise, Tedesco has been talked about as a future star.
I really don't think the comparison is accurate.
