That is the worst thing he could do.It is a team game and you need to play as a team to do your best.He is not in under 7s anymore

He is leading try scorer in reggies because he backs himself. The best dummy in the game is Adam Cook when he backs himself and runs. Harry grant is most dangerous when he runs. If all we want from our dummy half is to pass the ball then let’s get Liddle back in there.

You have a point, Damien Cook played extremely well around the ruck against the Titans and was the main Catalyst for getting the Rabbitohs into the game.
But something with us, our forwards take forever to play the ball. We have 2 running hookers that find plenty of space and time to play out of dummy half in the lower tiers but into first grade and there is just no opportunities.
Liddle was crucified by all and sundry for picking the ball up at the ruck and having a go at the markers before distribution other than just passing and now we want Simpkin to do the same thing and not just pass off the ground.
The team and spine are all learning how and when to take a quick ball out wide for a shift play and when to take an opportunity to force a push through the ruck. It’s not just our hookers we need forwards pushing up hard on the inside. Twal should be running the Chris Heighnington suicide line back against the grain and behind the markers and we should be able to play with a bit more speed off the back of that.
Having Simpkin or Liddle run after nothing being generated by our forwards is just going to lead to more crunch tackles like the one he received be Sua.

A good dummy half does not run from dummy half as often Simpkin does(that was Robbies main fault also). He just needs to tone it down and run more selectively as at the moment opposing defences know what he is going to do.Being the leading try scorer in reggies(which he isnt) means little because FG defences are much more difficult to break down.
Running selectively is what he has to learn

A great dummy half seizes an opportunity to run and this leads to the markers not being sure whether to chase or stand idle. A dummy half that passes all the time makes it easy for the defence. Damien cook 14 runs for 124m. Simpkin 4 runs for 23m. Our good friend Harry grant ran for over 70m in 50minutes of footy. Simpkin will be a gun and will find his feet sooner rather then later. I just hope he doesn’t think all he has to do is pass to Brooks.

Lot of people suggesting Simpkin runs more .....he doesn't have the speed of a Cook or Liddle

Agree. Not sure if Simpkin has the zip out of dummy half or the speed of Liddle. We also know that Liddle will tackle all day. Time will tell.

George Clarke, Fox Sports:

They are often criticised for bad roster decisions, but the Wests Tigers’ move to lock down the hooker Jake Simpkin might be one of the shrewdest they have made in a long time.

The rake, 19, is contracted to the Tigers for next season and rather than allowing him to field offers from rival clubs, they have moved to extend his contract by a further two years.

The deal is set to be finalised in the next 24 hours.

It means Simpkin will be at the Tigers until 2024.

More importantly for the Tigers, who have been hammered from pillar to post for their inability to keep their best young talent off the market, it means Simpkin won’t be able to speak to rival clubs from November 1.

The Queensland-born hooker made his NRL debut in the golden-point loss to South Sydney and looked assured.

After starring in the NSW Cup with a then competition high six tries after five rounds, the Queenslander followed up with an astonishing 51 tackles against the Bunnies.

“He’s had a very steady start to his NRL career and he’s been very impressive,” Fox League’s Corey Parker said during his debut game.

“On his debut game (Michael) Maguire will be extremely happy with what he’s offered. He’s been exceptional, they look a completely different team in the middle third"

Good news. Also nice to see them change it up from 48hrs to 24hrs.

Standard manager trying to drive interest up. Tell us if/when it’s signed and sealed.

This is great news if true. A spine of Laurie, douhie and Simpkin will give us success. Now for that elusive Andrew John’s type halfback.

Great move by the Tigers.

Looking at the off contract players we should sign Luciano Leilua, Jock Madden, Alex Twal.
We still have two spots to fill also for this year.

Players that are promising but haven’t set the world on fire in first grade. Talau, Amone, Cini, Mikalele.

There’s 11 players coming off this year and next I would move on for certain: MCK, Liddle, Packer, Seyfarth, Walters, Garner, Kepoa, BJ, Mbye, Roberts, Tamou.

Off contract 2021:
Tom Amone, Michael Chee-Kam, Zac Cini, Jacob Liddle, Thomas Mikaele, Russell Packer, Alex Seyfarth, Billy Walters

Off contract 2022:
Luke Garner, Asu Kepaoa, Joseph Leilua, Luciano Leilua, Jock Madden, Moses Mbye, James Roberts, Jake Simpkin, Tommy Talau, James Tamou, Alex Twal

I would be all over Amone. Reckon he will be a gun with those giant thighs and leg speed.

Agree he should be in first grade. There’s a few others Tuilagi, Simpkins that should be close but not sure of that will be round 10.

Jock Madden is looking very promising after a scratchy start to the year, improving with each game he plays. I hope the management can keep him patient and not wanting to play FG too soon. The longer he stays in reserves, the better he will be when he plays FG. The club need to keep ramming the Harry Grant case study home to him. Harry destroyed QCup for 2 years before he got a go with us. By then, he was ready.

I still think there is room for both Liddle & Simpkin in the 17, Liddle has the pace and ball skills for the NRL he is to good for NSW Cup & so is Simpkin, Liddle should start and either fill in at lock when Simpkin comes on EG like Farah/Haleatau as a rover in the middle of the ruck or has a spell. Simpkin was very quiet yesterday. Yet no one has mention this at all, compare the 2 in both grades,

Need to reverse the competitions on Liddle's stats in that graph?

Yep they are the 3 who look most likely.
