Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have released prop James Stosic midway through a two-year contract due to overseas player restrictions.
>
The Wildcats had hoped New Zealand-born Stosic would become exempt from the overseas quota by acquiring a Macedonian passport before next season.
>
The club say they signed the former Gold Coast and Cronulla player last year on the understanding he could secure a European passport.
>
Stosic, who is of Macedonian descent, has been unable to do so and Wakefield have chosen to terminate his deal.
>
The signings of Daryl Millard, Ben Jeffries, Glenn Morrison and Shane Tronc for next season mean the Wildcats have no room in their squad for any more overseas players.
>
Coach John Kear said: "We'd like to thank James for his hard work on behalf of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and wish him well for the remainder of his career."
Thoughts?.......could be a cheap pick up........
