OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - Official

You guys are getting just a tad excited with the labels. We’re a still a way off just being able to scrape into the 8, let alone win the damn thing. I still expect him to be a monumental signing and will give us the same amount of output that Api has…Well, minus what Api did in the last round. I think he’ll be a clone of the leader Crichton was at the Dogs this year. Only problem is the Dogs are way ahead of us in terms of the rest of their squad and off field set up. There is only so much he can do until we stop conceding 40-50 points on the regular. It should be a no brainer that he and Api get appointed Co-Captains.
I’ve never quite understood how the multiple captain idea is more effective? Is the concept designed to promote leadership by giving more team members positional authority so that others will more readily follow? Having a snowballing effect on leaders and followers?

I said "if". You don't think if Luai gets the Tigers across the line with another premiership he wouldn't be included one day as an immortal of the game after the disaster we've been after the last 12 years.
It won’t be him on his own.

One hundred percent it will be a team effort, it will have to centre on him though if it were to ever happen, he would have to be the leader and driver of the standards set. Like Thurston was at the Cowboys. That's why I it did happen Luai would get all the accolades for it I reckon.

It's never been done before, for a good reason. It's so bloody hard. I think naturally people would find a way to take the credit away from him though even if it did happen. Sort of like when people said they should have picked burton over luai long-term, or that no kikau next to luai would be the undoing of him, or that he relies on cleary (even though his best footy in reality has been played WITHOUT nathan - evidenced by origin, samoa, and his form at penrith this year)

If that is true, he must also cop all the criticism if it fails. Do you agree?

Has to be,
Last fella did...
Well only some people agree.
There’s a lot of fans who get cranky if any criticism is labelled at club favourites.
Luai is taking a massive risk coming here. That impresses me. I hope it works out…a word of warning for him though;
Look what it’s done to Api…He was Dally M Hooker of the Year in 2022. He was playing Origin in 2022.
That seems a lifetime ago.

I tend to put players into one of two buckets. Part of the solution or part of the problem.

Api is part of the solution. Not perfect, but in that bucket.

Most of my criticism will be aimed at the other bucket.

Most of the Squad you mean?

Id agree except being in the positive bucket should and does not exclude him from criticism for mine.
