It’s different to the Stefano situation. Stefano was left in a position were he could manipulate his way of the club through poor performance. Even if it was only subconsciously happening.

Luai’s clause is black and white.

What exactly are the reasons he may use this clause?
A. Set amount of wins?
The club making the finals?
Are they set in stone or is it fluid?

While this revaluation about Luai's clauses is disappointing, ask yourself this.....would you have him here with these clauses, or not here at all?

I don't blame Luai for having these clauses. The club has been the all time embarrassing joke of a sporting organisation. Probably the biggest joke is world sport.

I do believe though, that if we get our crap together, Luai has the integrity to wipe clauses in year 3, 4, and 5. IMO he will hold up his end of the bargain. If we deliver our end, he will stay.

The other thing to keep in mind, this was leaked after all the recent signings. Normally it would’ve been straight after Romey signed which would’ve likely impacted any future signings. It’s not ideal but we got him, above everyone else, and he seems very committed to bringing a winning culture here.

Yeah, I'm certainly not discounting Cleary's role in Penrith's rise & success. He's a great player with so much time left to achieve even more. Amazing what he's already achieved.
I would've been happy with either Cleary or Luai at WT!!

The timing of the leak is excellent, leading into Xmas before Luai arrives.

Negging things and then hopefully rebuilding the faith.

Would've been a nightmare during the season after a loss or two, perhaps with other negotiations (Galvin ) going on.

My guess it was Shane who leaked it.

I hate to say it, but the stop and start of the leaks correlated with the change in the board. Everything I have seen so far would have visibility from the board.

Unlikely. The contract was signed after he was dismissed... and the leaks have been going on well before Lee's time.

Need to look at who has been around during all these periods, and who was gone during the quiet ones.

So what, even if he had a contract without clauses and he wanted to leave in two years his chances of getting a release are quite high in this day and age. If he plays well and we succeed then why would he want to leave, if he falls short on being able to make a difference who is going to offer him the kind of money he is on. So many variables,

If we had of signed him on a two year deal alone I would have still been happy. Would he heave signed without the clauses probably not and then what.

Live in the moment I say. We have him for two years that’s a positive in its self.

He's one of the very few constants throughout the multiple years of leaks. I struggle to think of anyone else. Danny Stapleton is another, but he was there when it was quiet last year.

The biggest thing that irks me about these clause's is he can sign for another club from Nov 1 next year.
If the clause kicked in the year after meaning he's here a minimum of 3 years i'd be a lot more comfortable with that.

Do i think he'll sign elsewhere after just 1 season, highly unlikely but still possible. I think he is a man of his word but we all know how this joint can drag you down. It's the uncertainty that now is there that wasn't there previously not that we knew anyway.

We will never know for sure but Danny's leak during the Balmain issue and this one seem cultivated to steer towards a certain eventuality.

I suppose we can't completely rule out players management, in order to pressure the club for their agent.

Good thing to with Luai because this would've come out later.....best now before he arrives forcing him to prove his worth.
