Jason gave his first interview on Fox earlier tonight. Was very dignified.

Said;

- Disappointed that Mitchell had chosen to leave the club
- Said Woods and Tedesco should re-sign as the club has shown a lot of faith in them.
- Said he was disappointed to hear talk of guys wanting to go to other clubs to play finals football - words to the effect 'missed out by only one game last year, season was hijacked by halves contract negotiations which have carried over to this year and said the boys should just sign and get on with playing footy'
- Said halves started playing better after contracts signed last year but that they dragged on as they have again this year.
- Found out about sacking by media

Sounded really frustrated at the extent of protracted contract talks and also mentioned the distraction caused by Tim Simona article pre Panthers game this year.

Classy guy irrespective of what his coaching record states.

Spoke well obviously didnt want to burn any bridges with prospective new employers, couldnt argue with much of what he said.

I thought he did well too. I'm not a fan of Taylor as a coach but I thought he was humble, as honest as he could be in the circumstances and loyal to his former employer. I also agree that players such as Brooks, Moses and Tedesco should show loyalty to the club that showed loyalty to them.

Whatever you think of his Coaching ability…Classy guy..had every opportunity to throw many under the bus..accepted responsibility.. Oh and BTW those Lady Interviewers were relentless...put Weedler Massoud and Hoops to shame..

Agreed. I didn't think much of him as a coach. An excellent player and by the sounds of it a respectful person.

I was very vocal on wanting him gone, and my opinion hasn't changed, he is a very poor head coach. But he handled himself very well tonight, more or less blamed the big 4 for his demise, said they should re-sign as they owe the club.
Didn't stick it to the club as he could have, came across pretty well, I don't want him back here but hope he gets something in the near future.

Spoke well and made some good points.
I think the stuff about the media was exaggerated a bit - he said he found out via phone call, just that the press had got wind it may happen earlier and turned up outside training.

SMH has some quotes

Asked about the NSW pair, Taylor said: "I think it would be really disrespectful for those two players to leave the club. James Tedesco and Aaron Woods should sign on the dotted line and get on with leading this club.
>
"They've been given that opportunity. Ivan Cleary is a good coach and they should start working hard and leading that team to the semi-finals.
>
"I was disappointed this week to see some of those players say they want to play in a club that's going to play semi-final footy. The Wests Tigers have said, 'we are the ones that believe you can take us to semi-final footy, let's get your head down and bum up, work hard and you guys lead us into the semi-finals'.
>
"I believe [if] those four players sign their contracts and get on with playing well and the Wests Tigers are good enough to play semi-finals, but that's now going to be how it goes down."

I thought he was good too. He could have easily unloaded with plenty, but at the same time made it clear he accepted what happened as part of the game.

I think he said plenty by not saying too much. He acquited himself well.

100% bang on. I genuinely think the club is doing all they can to accomodate these guys. Even the recently punted cops to that. Enough is enough, they need to give us an answer so we can make alternative arrangements if we need to.

He handled himself with class the whole time he was with us.

He spoke well tonight. Loved the rocket he gave Teddy and Woods.

He lacked class big time in bagging past coaches when he arrived at the club.

I also thought he lacked class in another major areas.

However he will agree to disagree on that.
