Joel Clinton....

It appears the chase for Lima is done and dusted and he will remain with the Storm…..

Do we cut our losses and concentrate on what we have.....

Or are we still short up front........

Joel Clinton was mentioned weeks ago as a player on the outer at the Broncos and may be released...

Wests Tigers where linked if the missed out on Lima.....

So the Question? Joel Clinton Yes or No.....

When he was off contract at the panthers weren't the tiges close to signing him but the broncos came in at the last minute with an offer and he shoce them over us?

If he's been intereted once why not again?

his time at the broncos hasn't been spectacular, nor anywhere near what gained him rep honours a few years ago, but i think the broncos as a squad were struggling this year with a new coach post the bennet era.

clinton, galloway, cayless, payten and gibbs all rotating isn't a bad mix to have.

at the right price i think it would be worth it.

at the right price, yes
in fact I'd be happy to spend a decent amount on him just for the sheer fact that we'd have another prop

At the right price. He hasn't gone great guns up in Brisbane and the Tigers don't have a whole lot of cash to throw at him, but there might be enough in the coffers to attract Clinton if he does want out of the Broncos.

We have too have at least 250k considering we missed out on Lima.

I would be happy to have him at the right price as well! I dont think the broncos would stand in his way as they have signed Anderson from the storm.. He could be one of those players that if we sign him we will regret it or if we dont and he hits form we will kick our selves. Will be interesting to see if there is any truth to us chasing him or not, guess time will tell. As long as he isnt asking overs i think he is worth the gamble!

I wouldnt be using that 250k for Clinton thats for sure. Maybe if we got him for around 120k it would be ok.

yes ks that is a valid point.. i wouldn't think you guys need any more forwrds anyway…

Joel Clinton will not play in a Wests Tigers Jersey

Although I doubt that we will sign him, do you have any evidence supporting this statement?

The last couple of years has seen Clinton be dominant and dominated in the same season and sometimes successive games. He always gives 100% and is a prop so thats a benefit.

On the other hand we have added Cayless, Moores and Schirnack so I feel we are solid in that area. As long as we don't pay overs he would be a good addition.

maybe a 1 yr deal with an option for 2….but in all honesty, id save that money!...if we have that amount?

save our money and sign burgess in 3 years…...........................not.
yeh, clinton has some aggro in him. I'd sign him in a heartbeat

The Tigers already have a back-up plan in place. **Should Lima remain at the Storm,** they could turn their attention to South Sydney's Jaiman Lowe or out-of-favour **Brisbane prop Joel Clinton.**

Clinton has another year remaining on his deal but is known to be unhappy after falling out of favour late in the season.

**The Broncos would not stand in his way if he wanted to leave.**

From the Australian…...

that was back in october.

Yes but at that stage a lot thought Lima was a done deal….....

Things change that's why they call them back up plans..........

well i'll for one be hoping that this back up plan will not fade away. but brisbane is a long way away from concord. to tell you the truth i prefer clinton to lima. lets see what unfolds in the next few weeks.

I think the tigers have bought well to bolster the engine room, include the young guys that have also been promoted to the squad and we aren't look that skinny up front.

clinton at the right price (would we have to pay his full contract or would broncos have to pick up some of the tab?) would be a good addition, he's a prop which everyone has been screaming for and it will also help the younger guys in the squad to be able to settle in and find their feet at their own pace.
tigers have had a horrid run with injuries up front over the last few years compounded with the lack of depth in that department so any addition has to be a positive.
