Just a thought on how to resolve the current Farah/Taylor situation

@Regan said:
If I was Robbies manager I would say to the Tigers if you want Robbie to leave next year he plays first grade for the rest of the year plus he signs a contract for the next 6 years at 200K a year all NRL contracts are guaranteed and that will come off cap and he gets 200K compensation for all the B/S ….................. He gets his release for 2017 everything is done and dusted

The NRL would not be registering a player contract where it was obvious at the time of registration that the player was not going to be playing out the contract.

1\. Sack Taylor … Pay him him out his 30k that he's on ( I'll pay that ).

2\. Make Farah coach

Summary .....we save $950k on next years salary cap and Taylor gets the arse ...

It's a win /win for everyone !!!

I like this idea…from Robbie's greatest fan..Captain Coach would be better..

Wrong again mate ,,,, if Farah was captain as well as coach his salary would come out of the cap money

….next

Needs to get a Choc Watmough injury and retire!!!!

But to many have bullets have been fired,Farah has to be moved on and probably Taylor to

I don't think he's handled this well at all, but I stop short of wishing injury on him.

I am not wishing a injury on Farah, rather just like Watmough a injury is used as a excuse to get round the cap regulations. It worked for Parra

Knowing our luck, they'd count it toward our cap.

Lol - Farah as coach.. And we thought things were bad now.

Whether the salary cap rules would allow or not, I don't think the alternative job option would work - he's already owed the amount in this current contract, whether he plays or sits on the sidelines doing nothing. I don't see why he would want to take on another role in the club when he is still entitled to the money in his playing contract. He wants to play football, and if he does get to again in first grade - great, he's happy. If he's sitting on the sidelines or playing for another club, he'll still be getting that money..

Firstly there are rules about paying players, and that breaks a few of them probably.
The NRL aren't dumb. Or at least not dumb all the time, they would get quite a laugh about that one.
You miss a small point. He doesn't have to do a thing.its his decision to go , or stay and plays Reserves
He's entitled to the money owed. As has been said here heaps of times, part of that is payment from the previous years of his contract that he's already played.

I am starting to think Robbie as captain/coach is the best idea to resolve all of this.

It'd even give the Robbie haters more meaning to their lives. They could factually state that players and in particular Robbie runs the club.

Everyone wins.

I'd give farah coaching, ceo, recruitment, director of everything.

It'd be too much for him. If we can't give him captain/coach the next best option would be the right to veto team selections.

That would be nearly as good as captain/coach.

Let's just hand the club over to him - Owner, Chairman, CEO, Coach, everything. We'll even field a team of one each week too.

Apparently some posters on here have it on good authority that he already fills those roles and he has been for a while. So we know that he has the experience.

It could work.

How will that work with Robbie undermining himself & angling to get the coach sacked?

Hasn't it been flagged that communication is an issue. After a loss he will go days without talking to anyone.

I am not sure whether that would work as a coach.
