Kane Evans

Hearing talk that he is unhappy at the Roosters. If the Tigers recruitment have any idea they would be throwing money at him. He is perfect for us. Young, huge, aggressive … Sign him up naaaaaaaaaaow. Someone tell McDonnell to get his manager on the phone.

Dont kid yourself he would be a cheap pick up,the young kid at the dogs got a million over three years and Evans is in his class. In saying that he would be a great pick up. Not sure but have a feeling he is a Balmain junior, also read on another board he has been linked to Souths.

He would be a great option though it's hard to see the Roosters letting Evans or even his partner Napa go. We'd be a much better chance of getting Kennedy i'd have thought.

Maybe the chooks have to clear some cap space for the resigning of "money Bill".He only signed on for one year and he would have to be on nearly a million a year

We should only want to sign Evans if we keep Keefy

If not an experienced hard head should be the top of our list and then Evans

Saw him play lots of U20s on tv last year. He was really good and I believe he could handle the step up to NRL. I rate him above Buchanan on what I saw last year (no offence to Buchanan who has been terrific in his first year).

Mate, that would be great, if we could offload Blair and have $500,000 free.

$200,000 for Evans,
$300,000 left for another quality signing.

We need to do what Newcastle, Canterbury do so well, and what cronulla has done to us.
Quality players, at bargain basement prices.

Hope people realize if we get rid of Blair we will be wearing some portion of his contract with whatever club he signs with FOR THE NEXT TWO SEASONS

Better off sticking him at prop or lock for the next two seasons and then having him want to leave if he doesn't like it

Most probably we will.

However not a certainty.

If Blair is unhappy and seeks a release, then contract is cancelled. If we punt him we will have to pay out the rest.

So it depends on how it goes down.

I hope he has enough of being bagged, asks for a release, and returns to melb, leaving us some $$$ for a different direction.

In saying that if he stays it has to be front row.
Much better performance then lock.

It is only cancelled if the club wanting him is prepared to pay what we are paying him or are preapared to swap a player of value of the make up

If not we will still have to cough up the moulah so to speak

We are better off keeping him the full term , that way he has to perform to earn his next cointract with the next club that wants him

In my opinion I believe The Roosters and The Bulldogs have the best depth in the comp.
If it was up to me, I'd be speaking to a lot of their players trying to entice a few over to Tiges.

Would love Kane @ The Tigers

Mate I know what you are getting at, that is if we release him.

If he asks for a release, depending on the terms and conditions of both parties, they Can terminate the original contract with agreed consent from both parties.

Meaning if he asked for a release, it doesn't automatically guarantee that we will still be paying for him, it also does not guarantee that we will not either.

Kane is a Balmain junior, a Leichhardt Wanderers boy, but unfortunately his team folded in about U12/U13s and he started playing in the Souths Junior League instead. Not the fault of WT or Balmain he was lost, but a damn shame. As with everyone, would love to see him in a Tigers jersey, but I'd be extremely surprised to see the Roosters let him go considering the age of some of their forwards.

the other side of the coin is we can get someone to take Blair for 300k, we obviously still have to pay the extra 200K, but buy a 300k prop who can exceed Blairs output on the field…

But as you say, its the devil you know... keep running him at prop, find where he hid his aggression, and get him to charge us overs for doing solid work in the prop rotation.
