one of the centres made Aus Schools this year

Good, we need a strike centre or two.

And yes, if anyone has any info on who we have contracted to us from up there would be handy.

Marion Seve is the centre I believe.
Looking around on google there appears to be an article from Keebra Park about 12 weeks of chemotherapy :s

Chemotherapy appears to be from last year so I take it he's fine now if he's playing footy at that level.

Keebra Park into schoolboys final

Wests Tigers development school Keebra Park State High School continue to excel at schoolboy level, qualifying for the Queensland final against St Brendans.

If Keebra, who feature another crop of future Wests Tigers stars, take out the Queensland final on Tuesday they'll then face Illawarra State High to qualify for the GIO Schoolboy Cup final.

Wests Tigers will bring six players to Sydney in 2014 to enter the Club's development system.

Wests Tigers Recruitment Manager Warren McDonnell paid tribute to the School's program.

"It's been immensely valuable," said McDonnell. "It's a fantastic partnership, you only have to look at the players we've gotten from them over the years.

"They run a fantastic program. Greg Lenton is doing a great job, aided by Glen Campbell who does a fantastic job as strength and conditioning coach.

"They've got great staff around them.

"It's a great partnership that will continue into the future."

The Wests Tigers work with Keebra Park to ensure the highest possible level of development for the young players.

"We bring the coaches down, we have our camp in January and spend time with the coaches and players," said McDonnell.

"We also send people up there to get involved as well.

"All credit goes to the people at Keebra, they're the ones who do all the hard work."

While fans see the results of the development as performance on the field, Keebra also aim to develop the players as quality young men.

"That's the whole idea of it," said McDonnell. "Their discipline is fantastic.

"They get a good education.

"They don't let the players waltz through just because they play rugby league.

"They're well rounded, even the kids who don't make it in footy, get a good grounding for their future careers.

McDonnell has seen the likes of Benji Marshall, Ben-Murdoch Masila and Rangi Chase come to the Wests Tigers from Keebra park, but is especially excited about this current crop of young players.

"It's hard to single anyone out, because as a group they're six of the most talented kids we've had," said McDonnell.

"I'm really excited about Marion Seve. He's the Australian Schoolboys centre.

"He reminds me of a younger Steve Renouf. That's a big call, but he plays with that style of play.

"We've got a group of six which also includes Lamar Liolevave, TeMaire Martin, Sione Alofi, Watson Heleta, Hala Masila."

"As a group, I'm really excited about them."

Honestly I can't speak any higher of Greg Lenton and what he does with/for these boys!

He really does know how to ground these boys while at the same time coaching/mentoring them skillfully and mentally to be future first graders! And its not just Lenton, credit must absolutely also go out to Mrs Joanne Hallett, Keebra's VP, because she too is a key figure for how these boys leave Keebra so grounded, humble, focused and motivated!

It's just a crying shame the Tigers can't hold onto every youngster the club invests into from school age competition! To my knowledge, Keebra are the only school who conduct trials in NZ and offer an opportunity of a lifetime scholarship for Kiwi kids Lenton believes are true future first graders!! He definitely has an eye for talent!!

I thought we sacked McDonnell?

I think he was demoted from FG contract dealings but is still tied in with schoolboy recruitment…. Not 100% sure though....

I think this is the case, he handles the junior development and recruitment now.

I think he looked after it all previously maybe I'm wrong, but if so its not his junior recruitment that's been a miss, it's his top 25 stuff that's sucked.

If you watched thew game this morning you would realise that his junior recruitment remains top notch. The centre does look like a young steve renouf.HIS BALANCE IS SUBLIME.CAPS SORRY.good pace and good step scored three tries. Also a very good ball playing second rower(great ball skills but not as big as id like) also a handy fullback and five eighth from the side were contracted to us.Pretty much four of their top 5 players were with us.

Keebra won 32-10 i think, and all of Keebra Park's points were scored by players with Tigers scholarships. Seve did look good, very fast, and well built for a kid too and great feet. 2 of his 3 tries were easy ones though, but still a handful all game.
The fullback and five eight looked pretty handy and the goal kicker scored a try at the end too.

Our NYC backline next season could almost exclusively be Keebra players next season!

You wouldnt have thought the 12 weeks of chemotherapy would of helped his build either.

Did they say the 5/8 was ours as well. I heard them say something about him being spotted while playing touch footy but couldn't make out who he was signed up with. Thought it was us.
Marion Seve looks the goods, apparently he was picked up by the Roosters before they let him go.

Keep an eye out for the St Brendans boys as well they are Central Qld version of a football school of excellence

Many of these boys are on contracts with the Broncos and Cowboys

How does our relationship with Keebra work?
I know we get lots of their players but do we sponsor them or?

The WT contracted players come down to Sydney each year for player clinics, along with the coaching staff who also receive development. I don't know how the financial side of things works.
