Just wondered what people thought of him on NRL 360 tonight

As we know , he got down to the last 3 in the interviewing process when chasing the WT's job in 2013 which Mick Potter got

I always had my doubts with my old Ipswich mate , whether he would play the fool/court jester too much in the role

I was just so impressed tonight , he is an extremely observant person in regards to rugby league and really looked far more intelligible and calmer than Daley did

I wonder if people think he'd handle the full time role as an NRL coach

From what I've seen so far , you'd give him half a chance of being a success

Thoughts ??
 
Seemed very firm in his demeanor tonight.
Business as usual, very impressed.

Will do well you'd think.

If that's correct Geo ,Smith needs to be named as a Immortal now

I don't think you are giving him enough credit , he is on a beating to nothing , much like he was when he took Lewis's position at the Broncos and Qld
 
Walters said it himself….

After 10 years together the 'players' know what's required..

would gladly take even JT over him.
 
He is just what a good Nrl coach should be, he has very good people skills, a good mentor & he has clearly defined boundaries & is not afraid to enforce them.
 
Interesting to see both coaches views on having earlier SOO games , particularly in Sydney

Also did anyone notice that half time lasted 22 minutes , I didn't until they mentioned it

No wonder the defences seemed so good and the teams struggled to score , any player shouldn't have struggled to get to 80 minutes under those circumstances

Channel 9 have a lot to answer for imo
 
I won't judge him on one game, especially a game won.

Think a fool could coach QLD over the past ten years - well Meninga did.

I'll wait until he coaches an average team and see what he can do.

In the meantime I'll take JT.
 
To be honest I do not think there is much in the way of coaching when it comes to SOO games, its more about trying to get 17 players playing as a unit, but I was impressed with Walters, he seems to be very calm and fair dinkum and he strikes me as a person who the players would like and respect.

He would certainly be in my sights when we are next looking for a coach

The timing is ridiculous. I went to the game - had time to finish work at 6pm in the CBD, have a leisurely dinner and a few drinks at a restaurant in town with a mate, got a train out to Homebush and got to my seat at around 8:20, just before the game kicked off.
The half-time break seemed to take forever, was surprised to read it was "only" 22 mins.

As for Walters, no idea on his coaching ability given he's had no proper experience, but he comes across as a bit of an idiot on Fox Sports IMO. Might just be his public persona though.

No mate… The guy is a egotistical muppet.

Kevie knew we wasnt first or second choice for the role, he also knew Mal white-anted him for the role prior to his appointment, so what does he do as his first actions as the big barwana.... Suspend players for doing nothing wrong. IDIOT!
