Hughes is such an underrated player. He is a constant threat to the defence due to his speed. In the halves, there is no substitute for genuine pace. That is why when Fainu is in the halves, he straightens our attack because his speed and step get him to the outside of his opponent.Munster has a great fend. But in that team it’s Jarome Hughes who is dangerous because of his speed. He creates so much because defenders have to stick to him. Luke Keary was the same with his speed.
Watch Hughes his speed off the mark causes all problems for the defence.Speed off the mark is one of those things nobody can really prove or disprove so I won’t go there.
I think what Munster and Cleary do have is great instincts of when to run the ball and they play behind the best packs in the comp, so they’ve certainly had a lot of learning reps.
If Lachy is keen to go elsewhere, no doubt a better forward pack would be one of the big reasons.
I just hope he gets to play some front foot footy this year so we get to see more of his best stuff. His running game I’ll admit often looks clunky and disruptive. If you watch him
Closely though he often holds onto the ball rather than put a teammate under pressure. Opening up our attack so there’s more opportunities outside him will be a big focus for Benji this year.
No I’m not saying he was crap. He wasn’t crap.Ah c'mon. He was crap was he? He won us the spoon?
Do you think they'd prefer to pay $1m for Galvin? They've got Brooks?
Seriously?😂
As I said in the post you replied to originally, if someone wants to offer him $1M+ for 2027 and beyond, then let him go. Being our best player in a wooden spoon year doesn’t earn that IMO.It was strongly implied When you challenged my post being critical of people doing this (post 4754) - otherwise why respond with irrelevant points to what I was saying ?
seems you must agree with me then … all good 👍
If he continues to improve it most likely get him offers around that mark. The same will happen to Humphries and Sharpe. No I’m not saying he was crap. He wasn’t crap.
He is also wasn’t great and definitely not as good as people are trying to make out.
He ran our attack - touched the ball way more than any other player as first receiver and the result was the worst attack in the comp and a last placed finish.
That does not equal a multi million dollar multi year contract upgrade in my view.
If it’s dollars his agent is saying we must have made an offer and it’s been knocked back , I would give his agent permission to field offers now on the condition if matched he signs or if by chance say Parra offer him $ 1.2 million per year 5 years we could say jam that , Parra take him but we get one in return and he can go now ( Hopgood )Iam amazed how people are turning on Galvin when all he is doing or should I say his agent, is trying to obtain maximum dollar for his next contract. Loyalty went out the window decades ago, and Iam sure if we have a crack this year he will give Richo every chance to land his signature, but at the end of the day it will come down to dollars and a opportunity to win a comp
Agreed. Whether the kid doesn't perform and decides to go, that's his choice. He is 19 years old and trying to navigate everything, and he has his agent in his ear. If he leaves the Tigers in 2027, so be it. Good luck to him. Players come and go all the time; it's a part of the sport. Unless he does a Josh Aloiai, I have no problem with whatever his decision is.Iam amazed how people are turning on Galvin when all he is doing or should I say his agent, is trying to obtain maximum dollar for his next contract. He is an adult. His agent is handling matters. We know this because Galvin has said it. Repeated requests for a release were made over the summer last year, as advised by Richardson to get out of his contract with our club. This was not about his next contract. I don't care if he leaves but I do care that he fulfills his contract to our club.Agreed. Whether the kid doesn't perform and decides to go, that's his choice. First receiver is the first guy to receive the ball from the hooker. How on earth is Buckets a nickname for Farah?
Or was someone else Hooker then?
First receiver is the first guy to receive the ball from the hooker.
Funny I say that and the NRL includes Hooker picking the ball up as receipt. Technically on that point he is in fact the first reciever.
Confused?
Do you think Benji being a notable speedster in his day alongside a not so slow half in Prince will persist with Galvin in the halves or would prefer to use Latu’s speed? I think the spine will look different by the end of this season.Watch Hughes his speed off the mark causes all problems for the defence.
Nevermind, I don’t think you were part of the original conversation that was more for @innsaneinkI am....
The only bloke in the team being called 'Buckets' in 2005 was the Skipper Mark O'Neill.
Has always been called Buckets.
I'm not sure, but let me ask you this.Do you think they'd prefer to pay $1m for Galvin?
