OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277

Fletcher Sharpe is better than Galvin.

If Galvin continues to play bad, he will be replaced by Latu and Sharpe will become the hot property in the market. Selfishly, i hope this happens so this teenage jerk gets a life lesson.
And if it does happen and Sharpe becomes hot property and his manager does the same you then hope the same for him?
No wonder you named yourself after a clown of a wrestler.. arriba!

If he continues to improve it most likely get him offers around that mark. The same will happen to Humphries and Sharpe.

I thought he had a great rookie year when you consider he came into an uncoached wooden spoon team.
He should never have been elevated for mine. That was a huge mistake that we will pay for later this year.
His greatest strength is how busy he is. He is a competitor. When you have a guy playing like that who is very young, in a side full of guys who are appearing to not be giving their all, he stands out. This is how he has become over rated...he actually didnt do a lot last year despite looking like he was.
This was proven in great detail when Freddy made the bonkers decision to make him starting 5/8th in the PMs 13 game. Against a higher grade of opposition, he looked like a kid trying to swim who has only had 1 week of lessons.
Luke Brooks resembled Andrew Johns when he came on to replace him.
He is good, but is at te very start of his journey. People want to pay him like he is halfway through it.

If it’s dollars his agent is saying we must have made an offer and it’s been knocked back , I would give his agent permission to field offers now on the condition if matched he signs or if by chance say Parra offer him $ 1.2 million per year 5 years we could say jam that , Parra take him but we get one in return and he can go now ( Hopgood )
Iam sure we did make a substantial offer, but Galvin’s agent is banking on the assumption Galvin will get a far better deal by going into a November auction with multiple clubs bidding. I also have no doubt a few of our parasite clubs have already put offers to his agent.

One thing for certain he will get a big fat contract

First receiver is the first guy to receive the ball from the hooker.
Funny I say that and the NRL includes Hooker picking the ball up as receipt. Technically on that point he is in fact the first reciever.
Confused?
Of course, this is the NRL, however they are working on minimising confusion.

They are doing this by Cancelling the Monday explain-a-thon featuring Graham Annesley.

This was the much awaited weekly session where everyone was left scratching their heads wondering, "what just happened?"

Evey person and their dog can see he has talent. However he is young and has an intense spotlight on him. We just need to watch and see how he adapts to it tbh. My opinion is if we sign him its gunna cost us. If thats the case we have a season to observe how he develops and whether he is actually worth the million we will have to pay. I actually think this benefits us more then him. 2 million dollar halves is tough in our cap.

End result is someone will pay a mil. We have to be in the box seat but i dont see the rush. Are we sure he is a mil player? im not yet but he def has the tools. So lets wait and see and pay or not based on his performances.
Let's face it Moses will be wanting 1 mill min you know how greedy he is for his clients.
Is he worth it now well factor in this, he is not that fast, he is still growing and could get taller as well as fill out, he is still very raw and a lot to learn looked good at times last season when opposition didn't know much about him they are onto him now so will be closely watched.
Is he worth that silly coin well you be your own judge.

I agree if he does start to prove his worth by becoming a great playmaker this season, we will have to decide whether we match the market and even then he may not want to stay.(regarding him possibly going to para if para win the wooden spoon this year I’m sure he won’t be going to them as well.)

I watched the Gould podcast yesterday and I agree exactly what he says-. Playmakers are in high demand and there’s not many of them. If you have to pay over the odds for him you have to work out if he’s going to be a once in a generation player-but only time will tell if he fire’s this season.

We've got 26 more games plus a finals match to go 🤣 , so plenty of time for him to prove his worth and us to make a decison on what value he is to us going forward. We have already tried to get an early commitment and been knocked back. Now it is a matter of watching how the develops over the season to make an offer on what his value is to us. I'm just as interested to see how Latu develops.

Fletcher Sharp is a hell of a player. Puts to bed nice and early and talk of Brown playing 7 next season.
If Sheens got one thing right it was the need for speed in the halves, this guy is like a Cheetah, in a perfect side think you need 1 out of the 2 halves in your side to be quick, something we haven't had since Benji being the fast element and Prince the organizer.

Agreed. Whether the kid doesn't perform and decides to go, that's his choice. He is 19 years old and trying to navigate everything, and he has his agent in his ear. If he leaves the Tigers in 2027, so be it. Good luck to him. Players come and go all the time; it's a part of the sport. Unless he does a Josh Aloiai, I have no problem with whatever his decision is.
If we're going with the kid angle, then this is where his parents should step in. It's his decision if he wants to leave, but showing any disrespect to the Tigers in the meantime when they have bent over backwards to make him happy is not on.

Long term he isn’t a 6 or 7. His only position will be 13. He will get bigger and slower
I am trying to work this out.

So he is 85kg and tallish at 193cm.
As a back he will go alright but I am worried about him making tackles. He has the muscle so it works out.

As a forward... I just see a ragdoll.

Sure in attack he would be a nice and energetic lock. Then in defense he would just face 100kg monsters...

100% there would be verbal offers now , that’s why I would let his agent be free to negotiate, we need an answer to set this club up Latu is in reserve grade but if Galvin was going mwould swap them straight away of play Galvin off the bench and get Luai / Fanu combo going , Luai has already said Latu in a great player maybe he knows Galvin will go

Makes perfect sense. We cant let this drag on all year or we may lose both of them.

Jolls if Galvan and Sharpe from what we have seen at present were off contract at the same time and their managers were wanting 1mill who would you pick.

At a mill right now I wouldn't select either. I would pass on them both and develop Latu. The $ saved would be for a beast second rower and a lock. If I had to choose on what has been shown it would be Sharpe; however, if I was on the recruitemnt staff I think I would perservere with Galvin; I think he could be one of those unicorns that come along every so often that you can build a team around.

Lol mate if we were at Randwick right now you just backed 2 horses for the win in the same race, it is a tough decision to pick between the 2, can understand the difficulty on the recruitment and retention decisions clubs have to make when it is so vital to get it right.

Sort of - I had to put two different hats on. If it was what has been shown to date it woudl be Sharpe. He is a bit more mature as a footballer - so that was the answer to the direct question. If I was looking to the future I would take the development odds (but at a short term loss).

That’s his current size. Put an extra 10kg on and he would go well at 13
