Lawrence in Simona out?

Hey gang,

I was looking at the training photos the tigers site posted earlier today and it looks like Lawrence is training as the left centre and Simona is with the NSW Cup side.

Photos 15 - 18 show Simona defending for what I assume to be the NSW Cup team and photos 19 - 21 show Lawrence playing alongside Paterson and Richards. Could that be the case? If so, I would be a bit disappointed!

Those teams are mixed up, I think you're reading too much into that, you mix players in the top 25 up all the time

When Lawrence and Simona are both available for selection I'd think Lulia would miss out. They'd both be starters

See how Farah is not training he has a calf strain and might miss the game

The injury report also mentioned that Lawrence trained today and is available for selection. I'd be happy if both Simona and Lawrence were fit and playing firsts

Be great to have both Lawrence and Simona as our centre pairing this week, but I really hope he isn't pushing too hard to get back. If he's still not 100%, take another week the hammy all good.

Head Coach Mick Potter has today finalised the Wests Tigers NRL side to travel to Wellington for the Round 4 clash with the New Zealand Warriors.

Tim Simona will not make the trip to Wellington after failing a final cognitive test during today’s training session. Simona sustained concussion during the 59th minute of last Friday’s victory over South Sydney at ANZ Stadium and did not return to the field.

In positive injury news, Chris Lawrence will replace Simona after passing a fitness test on a hamstring strain that kept him out of the Rabbitohs clash.

Wests Tigers Captain Robbie Farah missed today’s training session with a calf strain but is expected to play. Potter described the injury as 'improving' and will give his skipper up until 24 hours before the match to prove his fitness.

Wests Tigers will play the New Zealand Warriors this Saturday at Westpac Stadium with kick-off at 5pm local time (3pm AEDT).

Wests Tigers Round 4 Squad

Robbie Farah ©, James Tedesco, David Nofoaluma, Keith Lulia, Chris Lawrence, Pat Richards, Braith Anasta, Luke Brooks, Aaron Woods, Keith Galloway, Bodene Thompson, Cory Paterson, Adam Blair, Martin Taupau, Ava Seumanufagai, James Gavet, Sauaso Sue.

I wonder what it would have been like if Simona was in first grade the last few years ?

Anyone find it strange that Lawrence wasn't picked in the first place ??

If he was a probable ,wouldn't they have named him anyway and trained with Lulia ??

Am I reading too much into this ??

I'm not sure what you're reading but it's likely that Lawrence would have been a late addition to the state cup side like Simona was during round 2\. It looks like the current staff like to bring players back from injury through state cup to run the cobwebs out.

The sides are lined up like that in those sessions because one side is the team that are named to play. You can see Fulton and Simona both in the other side. They're okay, just rested because the Tiges take the concussion rule seriously enough to not let them cop another head knock in consecutive weeks. They'll both be good to go for Manly at Leichhardt. Simona ain't dropped that's for sure.

yep… You are assuming Lulia will be dropped once both Lawrence & Simona are fit.
