Hey guys…

We are working on the site atm and I am after a some images of Leichhardt Oval and Campbelltown Stadium. Some requirements....

1\. The image is taken from ground level looking across at an iconic stand or hill (I'll attach an example below which is pretty close to what I am after... but is too small, needs to be 4 - 5 times larger! Also the angle on this one is perfect!)
2\. Hi-res... I need the file to be big as it is going to be displayed quite large.
3\. Doesn't matter if the image shows an empty or packed area.
4\. Be nice to get in a snap of the upgraded grandstand at Campbelltown, if possible...

I've had some minor success with Leichhardt shots, mainly of the packed out hill. But I am struggling with Campbelltown. I'm hoping there's a few fan shots out there...

Cheers, Mike

just a bit extra, · 1909 ·

The 1909 season saw a remarkable turn of events concerning the
second NSWRL Grand Final. After drawing 2 games and winning
the other 8, the Tigers made the semi finals where they defeated
the Easts side.

The Grand Final was scheduled to be played as a preliminary
match to the Kangaroos V Wallabies clash later in the day.
Balmain officially protested to the NSWRL complaining that a
Grand Final should not be a lead up match to another match but
an event in itself. This protest achieved nothing.

The next day when the South Sydney side walked onto the field
the Balmain side were nowhere to be seen. Souths were officially
awarded the Premiership when at 2pm they kicked off to an empty half of the field. Souths then defeated a composite side 18-10\. (Surprised Souths didn't lose this game actually!)

Considering that one of the Grand Stands at Leichhardt had to be demolished/dismantled due to an attack of the evil termites I don't know why they have not considered removing the remaining Grand Stand behind the Goal Posts and building a Heritage/Boutique type of stand, something that will fit the nature of the ground built along the lines of both of the old stands but having more capacity and catering for our corporate supporters, and in the end give Keith Barnes a stand worthy of his name rather than the token that they have granted him, do it RIGHT!.
