Let's celebrate the fact that we have club loyalty.

I always knew that this club had the most loyal fans and I am proudly one of those.

But… there was always a small doubt in my mind as to whether that loyalty would ever be demonstrated by the players.
Yes we had Skando and Buckets earlier on and we all know how they were cult figures but the New Generation of Cubs are really doing this club proud.
Robbie and Benji have commited to this club for the long term, they obviously can see something in this great club that is worth hanging around for. Another Premiership?!?
We have a great culture at the club, the players are always doing their bit for charity and most if not all are extremely approachable from a fans point of view. Yes our achievements as a club have been somewhat below par for a majority of the time but it makes all the difference to me when I hear players speak about the club as us fans do. We pour our heart and soul into this club by way of memberships, apparell, merchandise and getting to the games to support our team and it is a great feeling to know that players feel the same way and are happy and proud to be Wests Tigers as we are.
**I feel that it creates a real connection between the club, players and fans.**
What an unbeliveable day we as fans are going to experience today on the fringe of a NEW season.

The confirmation that Benji Mar$hall will extend till EOS 2015.
The confirmation that Lote Tuqiri will be back to play in Round 1.

I just called my oldman to fill him in on the GREAT GREAT news… and I said to him.. you only get this sort of stuff at a club like the Tigers!

UP THE TIGERS!!!!

Its fantastic news for us, and i think loyalty is very difficult, as clubs are now run like a business or they are one, and in business there is no loyalty at all, so well done to the tiges and benji, we salute you!

Well said. Something that seems forgotten in all walks of life these days. Loyalty!

Something worth noting in that regard is the Sheens factor would be a major influence in both cases (getting Tuquiri and Marshalls extension). Not to mention Farah and Heighno staying, then theres Ellis, Cayless, etc… He certainly gets more respect and more loyalty is shown from his players then some fans. But hey, its not like the players would know better then the anti Sheens crew that accept nothing but the best. I'd imagine most of you are from this new generation of whingers that think they are entitled to the very best of eveything, regardless.

I for one am happy to have a competetive football team that believes in eachother, their coach and their club.
I'd hate to be a supporter or Bellamy's robot army down south.

Loyalty people!

club Loyalty? i like the fact that benji resigned but cmon there is no club loyalty anymore we have let go about 4 balmain/wests juniors over the last couple of years cause sheens stuffed them up

Yeah tell me about it.

It seems the biggest whingers are those who came on board sometime in 2005\. They obviously don't know that where the club is no is daylight ahead of where it was before that year.

Sheens has spent a good 3 years developing this squad of youngsters, why on earth you'd drop him when they've started to gel is beyond me. Last year, throughout the whole year not just the end, the team showed balls. They showed heart and showed to me, particularly in those monday night games vs Manly and Melbourne that this is a side that has massive potential.

Loyalty goes a LONG way with me.

I am very happy about Benji wanting to finish his career here - but at what cost??

Who cares? The guy has probably paid for any contract extension already with the revenue he has brought to the club.

It's not about that. It's the fact we have a salary cap and if we spend too much on one player then we wont have enough money to get many more top players. I do hear the salary cap might be increasing so it might be ok. I am happy that Benji is staying with us.

Yeah I am sure they are hating only winning 2 premierships in the last 3 seasons, 3 minor premierships in the last 4 seasons and making the last 4 grandfinals. Them Melbourne supporters must be doing it tough
Also their fans have to put up with getting a brand new state-of-the-art stadium.

i wish Tuaki wasnt injured. what a team then in round 1 against manly.

It reminds me of the old Tigers, Sirro, Pearce, Brooksie, Hemsley, Benny, Blocker, etc these guys wrere offered heaps from other clubs but stayed. I recall Blocker saying that Masteron who sponsored Wests at the time offered him a house with pool for him to move but he stayed.

I think that may have been at the time when the West players bailed and went to Manly for money.

I am sure if Benji went to market he could have got heaps more but also the crappy press that goes with look at Thurston and his manager atm.

Congratulations to Benji and the club. A massive pat on the back to the guys behind the scenes who got this important signing to take place. Humphreys has done such a wonderful job in the few months he's been here. Huge credit to him. Considering Benji was tossing up the union idea only one or two years ago and only had a one year contract extension, this new deal is even more spectacular.

I'm not fond of them but I do think it's good that there is a team in Melbourne. And I don't think their fans are doing it all that tough. Add 2010 Club World Champions to that list.
