Luke becomes the 10th player to make his NRL debut with Wests Tigers this season.

He becomes the 6th player out of the 2022 premiership-winning Wests Magpies Harold Mattews team to go on and play NRL with Wests Tigers, joining his brother Kit, Tallyn Da Silva, Lachie Galvin, Heath Mason and Jordan Miller, all of whom are Macarthur juniors.

The 18-year-old outside back was selected for the 2023 Australian Schoolboys along with current teammates Lachie Galvin and Heath Mason.

Luke becomes the first player to play for Wests Tigers who was born after 2005. He celebrated his 18th birthday just last week.

Great debut and he has always run the ball hard, but he’s not real big and not real fast, which is a concern.

Maybe he will grow a couple more inches … doubt he will get much faster though… he got caught from behind pretty quickly yesterday… although Canberra have a couple of super quick guys ,.. can’t recall who it was

I like his directness, it just sets a good precedent for the 6 tackles. And not just his try, but generally a willingness to go forward into contact.

But on the try itself, I don't think there are many other players in the roster who would have decided so quickly to take that opportunity, run full-tilt at the line and willingly collide with Josh Papali'i to score. A real natural doggedness.

I’ll admit … pretty gutsy for an 18 yr old … great signs with him and a couple of other guys coming through…. They have some confidence ..it’s been in short supply the last couple of years
