Magpies Posters on ebay.

Just been perusing through the Rugby League items on ebay and I came across 5 Western Suburbs team posters being sold on ebay later today, there are 4 from the 70's and one from 1981.
The auctions end after 6.00pm so just over 3 hours to have a look and put a bid in, this would also give any prospective buyers a chance to contact the seller to see if they are genuine what looks like Big League posters or re-productions.
There is a 1979 poster that took my interest, the tragic Buddy Cain is in the photo and there is a battered looking Bill Cloughessy on the right in the front row, I wonder if this photo was taken just after the 'Hit Man' from Souths Charlie Frith hit him with a monster tackle in a trial game that apparently loosed his teeth and ended his career.

Who was Buddy Cain? Why is he tragic? Have never heard of him. Wasn't Joel Caine's nickname "Buddy"?

Leroy, you got a link for these … Just spent a very enjoyable twenty minutes looking through the magpie memorabilia but didn't find the posters you're talking about.

Did find an old Jason Stafford footy card however which has a picture of Jason Lidden with Dougie Rawlings in support. Ha ha ha Wests were a bit low profile during this period even scanlons didn't know who the hell anyone was

And Fade ... Buddy Cain was a magpie winger from the 70s who passed away at a ridiculously young age after collapsing, playing touch footy in the inner city.

Snoddy try this link champ, I just had a quick look for you and found that this seller is selling various team posters and does have a few Magpies posters ending soon but i'm not sure if it's the one's the OP was talking about.

If the link doesn't work try searching seller dougie1710

Yeah thanks for that WT4Life … I did see these. For some strange reason when I read the original post I overlooked that they were team posters ... I was looking out for action pics.

I remember all those mid to late 70s team posters they are burnt into my memory ... it's as if all those blokes are old friends from a previous life ... Or something spooky like that ... Great memories.
