Snapper, old Red Cadeaux did a fine job again, but I don't think he will be back next year.Very good old racehorse and deserves a break.
I don't know if Happy backed Precious Gem,but the mail was spot on.

I will do a thread for Oaks day on Thursday if anybody is interested,we may have another winner..

That would be good.
I did okay out of the old fella I put money on win and place.
Cheers.

Had a solid go on the cup. 10 each way on Protectionist, (among other bets) and my 50 turned was doubled plus some change. This was my first cup since 2008 where I wasn't working in a TAB shopfront, so just to be able to relax was nice, work put up an amazing function for us in the afternoon, and it was all around a great day.

Old red was paying $5.60 for place.
And I'm not talking about Keith Galloway!

Great effort for a nine year old.Had the winner $15 win lost out on quinella and Tri as couldnt put Red Cadeaux in I just thought at 9 he couldnt pull it off.A true champion(at 2nd  ).Certainly a warhorse.

Great day with a sad ending , I have a share in a horse and she is only 3 years old and has been progressing well she run in the gloming at rose hill and after the race she was feeling the distance , the cup is 800 mtrs longer it's a long race the cup and really puts the horses to the test I'm hoping our horse only ever runs max 1800 , and the other horse who got injured after the race , real shame hope it recovers

Yes my Mrs nephews had a part share in Black Fix who was a promising horse and won a couple of Sydney starts was retired through injury at an early age

Very sad what happened , but what some people don't understand its not because they can't race anymore they put them down

Any horse that's break a leg can't be fixed , they have to move continually and they can't lay down without bending their legs and they can't get up without bending their legs

Thanks ink , didn't know that it had been put down last I heard was vets trying to fix it , it's the only thing I worry about with our horse is injury they are big animals , if our horse is running in a group in a race my wife can't even watch it , and the I worst thing about some horses and ours is one they are like pets , when we go to the stable or paddock when she is spelling they know who you are and come over for a pat ours puts her head on to your chest so she gets head and neck rub , I feel for the owners of the 2 , it would break there hearts

The other horse, Araldo, was put down

Post mortem on AR found ventricular fibrilation - heart failure

V-Fib is usually a quick acting thing. You lose consciousness very quickly due to virtually no cardiac output. So with any luck the horse wouldn't have suffered for long, if at all.

Had a bloody brilliant day

Picked the winner of the 4th

Had a 50% share of the trifecta of the 5th , 41% of the sixth and a 20 % of the Cup ( 9 horses picked LOL )

Picked Svenson at Doomben as well

Up heaps and been drinking UDL's since with the winnings since about 12.15
