Melbourne penalty with 3 to go

I thought Fui had a hold of Slater's leg when he was playing the ball and that's what the penalty was for.
What about the Slater knock on just before that It could have been ruled as a knock back.
You have to take the good with the bad in sport.
The better side won.

Slater played the ball VERY quikcly.

And Fui definitely still had hold of his leg.

The problem was that Slater dropped the ball. This forced the referee to make an instant decision. "Slater knock on, or Fui holding on".

Had of Slater not dropped it, we would have just had play on.

It's been happening all season though. Tough decision, but the same as all season.

3 to go in a GF is tough…..............................if the Tigers copped that one, I'd have just about broken the TV

That decision didn't make Melbourne win. They were still in front with very little time left. It just put them in a position where they couldn't lose. I think they were the better side on the day, and it was just one call in the game which could have gone either way.

I can't beleive no one saw what I ( and Archer ) saw .
A parra player running back onside knocks the ball out of Slaters arms with his knee.
It may have been accidental but its a penalty either way.
I don't usually stick up for refs but in this case Archer was spot on , and on the whole , the onfield refs had a good game.
If anything Parra got the better deal . Ithought Moi Moi had a foot on the sideline when he scored his try.

Should never have even been an issue, Moi Moi's foot went into touch when he "scored" to make it 22-16.

no it didnt…
it was close but he definately scored.

the only thing thats been happening all season is the inconsistency.
it was not a penalty and should have been a scrum, its that simple.
its too easy to start defending crap decisions these days because we see so many of them. infact, its sad. its slaters responsibility to hold onto the ball. if you lose it for trying to play it too quickly, 90% of the time its a scrum.
