Mental toughness

I am sure it is a personal thing when I watch the Tigers...however, as bad as Newcastle was, up until the last 10m, I had this gut feeling that, had the Knight crossed earlier in the second half, a few heads would have gone down, even if up by 16-20 points, and could have been a lot tougher for us. I don't know if this is a carry over from previous games (and the belting we got from the donkeys) - hence the question about mental toughness - of something that we, WT supporters, have seen so many times before that we almost "manifest it" so to speak.

I suppose we've been wanting to believe for so long, that the mere thought of another year of doom is enough to cast (unfounded) doubts about the year we are having. The ghost of the past that needs to be exorcided. It's the player's mental toughness as it is our own, I guess.

Regards to all

they used to say supporting balmain was character building e.g. 1989 grand final
I can imagine supporting the magpies apart from that brief season in the 90's was also bleak

however supporting the wests tigers has been a hard slog, not too much goes our way, we lose good young players, tedesco papenhuyzen and watch other leave and succeed e.g. Moses playing in gf's and SOO

3 semifinal appearances and one premiership in 25 years, yet here we all are... still

We will get over Galvin as a club, yes
is latu as good as galvin at the moment, No

Galvin will probably end up playing for Australia and nsw good luck to him, he has always come across as a mental dweeb or lightweight.

To me tedesco was a far bigger loss than Galvin.

when some players leave the club it is good luck to them e.g. Liddle, Brooks tried their guts out but just were not what the club needed at the time

When you have the other set of players woods, bateman, Moses and now Galvin.

I think moving forward I have found a new fa ourite player to deathride moving forward in Galvin.

Brought his current situation all on himself
I think maybe it wasn’t so much him but those around him. Isaac Moses sees a pot of gold and has obviously influenced the family. I think Galvin thought he was the new King of the castle but Luai ( renowned straight shooter), and others, have probably told him that he has to serve his apprenticeship before that happens.
Most 19 year olds are just happy to play footy and have fun, not get caught up in smart arse negotiation tactics. Once again, we’ll never really know what we had, until it’s gone.
Anyway, onward and upward ! We’re getting so much better at not letting these side issues detract from the bigger picture. That’s got to be Richo, and Benjis learning all the time. You know the old saying
“ if it’s to be it’s up to me “.
Go Tigers !!!
