This is out of today's Daily Telegraph:

Heroes:

Runs/Hitups - Chris Heighington (156)
Try Assists - Benji Marshall (14 - second in comp)
Line Breaks - Matt Utai (7)
Tackles - Robbie Farah (352)

Villains:

Errors - Benji Marshall (27)
Penalties - Robbie Farah (8)
Missed Tackles - Simon Dwyer (35)
Low work rate (Less than 85 metres in attack and less than 25 tackles) - Keith Galloway, Allan Schirnack and Andrew Fifita

Those errors and missed tackles is what kills us…here's hoping we improve from Monday night towards the finals

Something i've noticed week in week out is, most WT forwards always seem to have less metres gained than their oppositions. Even when they come away with a victory. Perhaps the style of play that Sheens employs and spinning it wide early in the tackle count contributes to the overall match stats??

I've seen more platforms laid at Macdonaldtown!! :brick:

These are the 2 areas that have concerned me over the past 5 weeks… We just arent making enough meters up the middle, Fifita's 1-2 exciting moments per game are just not worth his below average performance, and "less is more" when it comes to Benji being involved in every set of six.

lol, only railway people will get that!

On the Tigers, overall how would you rate the season so far?

5/10 for me.

4/10.
And that's being generous!!
With the talent Sheens has at his disposal, WT should be at least performing consistently around the 6-7 mark ALL season!! :brick:

P.S. And i don't buy the crap injuries excuse either!! EVERY club gets injuries!!

I did notice Fifita has FINALLY begun running it straighter as of last weekend against the Dragons. He does gain less forward metres in doing so, but it will gradually improve upwards.
The reason i have been stressing for him to run it straight instead of his usual fending cross-field runs is because it helps speed up the play-the-ball and also assisting the halves in laying a solid roll-on effect up the middle 3rd. This area, WT have almost had a non-existant upper hand on oppositions this year. Most teams are getting quicker passes away and getting up a lot faster than the Tigers which is where the advantage line can be exposed.
Also last week(and most other weeks), at every play the ball, most forwards weren't running onto the ball at pace except Fulton, which is what caused Marshall to almost pass forward(which is actually a good thing!) every time Liam hit it up. The other forwards need to follow suit and do the same and be READY to take a pass from Farah out of dummy half for the first 4 offensive raids!!

Michael Ennis - 37 Missed tackles
- 15 Penalties

Ricky Stuart and Bob Fulton = No Clue!

Ennis always produces poor stats, especially in the above areas. He is nothing but a liability.

did you read the tele today? its not about playing ability to get into the NSW team its all about the culture…so obviously picking players who will bond during a p*^s up is more important than picking a side whose capable of winning an origin series

Unfortunately old Keefy plays like a 7 foot spice girl. I love it when he takes the ball up hard, unfortunately it's all too infrequent for a starting prop! Needs to take some angry pills!!!!!!

I don't think we should be reading into Benji's stats too much . Your playmakers and fullbacks always have the highest mistake rates as they handle the ball the most . I think our win loss record gives a pretty good report of how we are going this year . NOT GREAT

The 9 and 7 handle the ball more than a 6 and 1…

If the Tigers are going to be a premiership threat, Benji needs to be less involved and allow his 7 to guide the team up the park with Robbie. If nothing is on, work the completion/reset. Its only once the simple stuff have been completed, that we should unleash Benji!

Benji still chimes in at first receiver alot of the time it takes the pressure of lui but applies more to himself that's why his has been down in my opinion

I love how a stat comes out that exposes Benji and just how much of a touch player he is and still everyone makes excuses for him and tries to defend him. I have said it from day 1 Benji does just as much harm than good if not more harm, but people turn a blind eye to it or just forget because 1 in every 6 games he'll throw a no look pass and put someone over.
Benji is like Hayne he plays for himself and for his highlight reel.
80% rubbish 20% brilliant. I bet i could put a package together of his cringe worthy football that would go for 4 times longer than his highlights.

Big Keith looks like he'll be great for a week or two…...........then, invariably, dissapears for months on end.

I've given up ever hoping we'll see him develop into an Origin player. This season was his chance and he's dissapointed yet again.

It could be downhill from here.

They have been giving more responsibilty to Lui….it was quoted and evident several weeks back now....that said in recent weeks I think its more anything goes, instructions & gameplans have gone out the window once on the park

Agreed, I think big Keef has run his race. I would be sadder to see Fulton or Gibbs leave over him. Plays waaaay under his weight. Imagine Fulton playing in Galloways body. Terminator!!!!
