Minimal Penalties = WIN

I got the feeling that at 20 to zip in the first 20 minutes of the game, the referees though this is going to be a whitewash we better even it up a bit so Souths got 4 penalties in a row.

i didnt get that at all

what i saw was our bench come on (has absolutely leaked points all year), we got absolutely destroyed in the ruck for the next 30minutes and conceded penalties on the back of that trying to slow the ruck down

I would just like to see both teams refereed the same but that will never happen they have there favourite teams and teams they dislike

I say that every time I watch a game, not just a Wests Tigers game either, one side gets reffed different to the other almost every game.

Last nights game a classic example Bulldogs got a penalty first play of game and then, not another till late in the second half in the meantime Parra get five - and a try from two blatantly forward passes. Were Parra the perfect team for that entire period - not from where I was sitting.

If we are honest, this has been a problem from the season start, its all well and good to be keen and have ago, however, this is where our discipline needs to be worked on immensely and the penalties will be less….

The old chicken vs egg. Were we dominant because of no penalties, or not penalised because we were dominant. In this case, I lean towards the latter.

we give away penalties because we can't keep up with their speed of play. that's why we are offside, we do careless tackles, lay on the player etc.

win the ruck= minimal penalties= win.

We need more players that can hit in defence. It doesn't have to big a big tackle but enough to stop them.

We need to work together in defence… We don't communicate, we rarely have the attitude required to compete ... We wrestle poorly... Too often the opposition is playing the ball and we still have two on the deck.
We need to hit- stick and drive them back

From watching this club over a long time, the problems with penalties, has been around .
I don't go for "the Refs are giving us sa bad time" excuses which are the favourite excuses here, as imo, the vast majority of penalties given against us are totally deserved.
Our team always or almost always, look unfit, and a yard or two behind the opposition.
I wouldn't think an Nrl club would be likely to have that as a problem, but it certainly appears that way. A lot of our penalties come from people laying all over Tackled players
And other lazy penalties that mostly come from fatigue, or lack of fitness
It's not new for us

Teams that are getting dominated concede penalties its that simple. We so often take the lazy option when we are on the back foot and it results in penalties. You will always get the odd unjustified call, but 80% are on the money. Good teams earn penalties and bad teams concede them

We've won 2 penalty counts and lost both games.

We drew 1 penalty count and won that game

Lost 6 penalty counts, won 3 games and lost 3 games.

we've given away 10 more penalties than we have received.

It's not the penalties that worry me, it's the amount of possession being turned over far too easily.
