How good is he going?

Runs hard, tackles hard, his kick returns are great and he has made no mistakes of late.

I really hope he is not dropped for McKinnon…he deserves his spot.

Really living up to his junior potential, definetaly belongs in the starting 13\. If he is dropped for mckinnon and doesn't take sleaus spot I will be fuming.

His confidence must be sky high, I think his defense is a little shaky at times but all others aspects of his game are sky high. If hammy McKinnon was to be selected brown has to get Ryans wing job

He had a slow start to the season and looked like a fringe FG at best, but he's one player at the Tigers who has put in the hard yards and kept his head up and it's really paying dividends now. He runs hard, is pretty safe at the back and is confident and looks comfortable out there.

Interesting read…..

I could be wrong here as you probably saw him play in the State Cup a little early in the year…....but i think Brown has always shown he's a first grader, he just didnt get the right opportunities. Been wanting us to sign him for a few years now and im really happy for him.

I saw him play a game at Leichhardt….for BRET......

He was awful.Looked like he didnt want to be there.Didnt put his body on the line and snoozed on the wing.

I thought he would never play firsts let alone with distinction.

Always had faith in Brown TBH, and I too think he wasn't given a good enough go with the Sharks. The games he did play for them in he was pretty solid (back then), improved a heck of a lot this season, that comes with regular FG time. The depth in our backs this season has been really good, Daniella has made almost every post a winner too.

Going to be interesting what happens next season with everyone fit.

I think we must be watching a different Mitch Brown.

He is capable and adequate but in no way a long term option. He does not run hard or tackle hard. He is not mistake prone like Beau and Fitzhenry, but he hasn't really been tested yet either.

What makes a good fullback?

- Solid defense
- Confidence under the high ball
- Chimes into the attacking line
- Hole running
- Strong kick returns

Brown has some of these characteristics. But he is not now and will never be a great fullback. Is he in the same class as Slater, Hayne or Matt Bowen? Not even close….

McKinnon is the much better option - a specialist fullback which is why Sheens recruited him. He is a great hole runner and hard to tackle. Unfortunately, he is injured and I would not rush him back into the squad for a semi or grand final.

Good luck to Brown....let's hope he isn't shown up in the next two games.

Brown has had good season. Not the most talented footballers but one of the smarter footballers I've seen. Does a lot of good small things that get missed by many.

Brown is a solid player and has been a good signing especially for our depth. I dont think he is our long term fullback. Maybe he can have the bench spot at the start of 2011 if Wade McKinnon can get over his injuries

What I really find amusing now is apparently a few months ago the secret society thought Mitch Brown was no longer in Sheens plans and he was told to look for another club…..and wouldn't be around next year....

What a difference the odd injury makes...

Great stuff from Brown in the back end of the season...
