Moors v Dwyer v Mataka

I am wondering who will be first out of Moors, Dwyer and Mataka to get a shot in FG. Who do you think it will be, and who out of the three will end up playing the most first grade games this season?

Dwyer….Sheens rates him Big time......

Mataka will see more First Grade this year as well......IMO

there is a lot of depth in the 2nd row and gower could be added to this as well

but on the 3 im saying Moors,i think he will be the most improve player this year he just needed a change of clubs imo

Moors is my smokey to complete a truly dynamic back row this season. I would interchange he and Heighno personally.

If we are going to use him as a prop than that is a tad dissapointing

agreed he needs to play in the backrow,he does remind me a lot of bronson so it wouldnt surprise me to see sheens try and turn him into a prop lol

They tried to do it in Penrith plus his attitude whilst playing for the Wolves was not that great by all reports.

However I genuinely think a guy like Folkes can turn him into the powerhoue he was in his junior football days

I reckon all three have fairly even claims at this stage. Mataka runs good lines and is pretty quick and I'd like to see him get a go. It will be interesting to see how Dwyer shapes up after the off-season as he hardly got any gametime in FG last year, and Moors has dropped a lot of weight, is obviously very fit and injury free and has good size.

The WT are definitely spoilt for choice in the backrow.

I think Moors and Mataka on the interchange coming on as second rowers would be good. I think Moors will only play front row if we get some injuries in the front row or if one of them aren't playing well and get dropped to NSW Cup. I thought Dwyer might get a few games in NSW Cup first but I think he is going to be a pretty good first grader eventually.

moors was hugley rated at penrith, was considered another pritchard. injuries and poor attitude (by all reports) held him back.

i think a change of clubs will do him the world of good, he could really be an x factor for us.

mataka i dont think will be a part of the regular 17 however he hits the ball hard and runs a terrific line. Does seem to have a few mistakes in his game though.

dwyer on the other hand is highly rated by the coaching staff and reminds me a lot of trent waterhouse. i think we'll see him start the year on the bench.

one not to forget is jason schirnack. imo was the best back rower of our u/20s last year. very, very good player.

i think moors will be our best signing (value for money wise) if given the chance, the guy is huge and has untapped potential that i think sheens and folkes will be able to "tap"

How good was Dwyer's ticker when he made his first run in First grade? I think he came on and made 4 or 5 tackles in a row. That's the kind of bloke that I hope gets a run.

I agree with all the above, we are spoiled for choice. Surely Shirnack has to be thrown into the mix too, or he is focused on the front row now?

I rate Mataka and think Dwyer will be a sensation,i havn't seen much of Moors but from what you guys say he sounds like he could do damage out wide.I hope Sheens plays Ellis wider this year too,his footwork out wide would be lethal.

I think Moors will be used as a prop unless he has improved remarkably in the off-season. Heighington and Ellis both play pretty much 80 minutes and with Fulton apparently being used as a utility it will leave one spot off the bench as a second-rower as I think Payten will start in the back-row. Galloway, Gibbs, Cayless and someone else for the prop rotation and I think that somone will be Moors or Fifita depending on from.

I rate all 3 and also rate Akeripa and Gower. Probably rate all higher than a couple of guys that will no doubt keep them out of first grade, which is a shame.

I rate Mataka big time. Every time I've seen him play I've been impressed.

I am hoping Moors and Dwyer are going to be keeping pressure on Ellis and Heighno all year too.

Sounds like Moors got out of the blocks well last night, although in the front row. Have to wait and see if all 3 players are named to face the Chooks next Sunday.

Yeah it's a nice problem to have. Haven't seen much of moores, but apparently well last night. If he can fill also fill the prop roll he may get a spot on the bench for versatility. I know the club has huge raps on dwyer, from whAt I've seen of makata and young shirnak I have been really impressed!
