Nathan Brown...

i think it came down to brown or lodge and we picked lodge. not a bad decision given that brown was barely keeping his head up at state cup. no one here was calling out for brown when he was with it.

as GNR said, can't keep them all

I was. Always been a massive fan. It wasn't between Brown and Lodge. It was between Brown and Santi/Lovett. Shocking choice by Taylor.

Brown has always had that x-factor and mongrel that we sadly lack.

His first grade debut was one of the best for a forward at Wests Tigers. Showed more in his short time on the field than most forwards have in a season.

He looks the weak link in Souths' pack every time I see them play.
That said, I'd rather have kept him on than some of the guys we've re-signed since, as there's something there (be it x-factor as per above, or whatever) to work with.

I disagree, he looks right at home in the souths pack, there are others who should go before him.

Yeah Dave Tyrrell and Jason Clark say hi

Choosing Lodge over anybody seems like a bad decision now.

Was that a Taylor decision? I always thought it was Potter.

Actually you're right on Tyrell - game seems to have passed him by.
Clark is a decent workhorse.
Brown's defence is a worry playing big minutes through the middle. Laterally he's pretty slow.

It was a Taylor decision. He was let go in Taylor's first pre-season.
