New buys vs locals

I must admit that I have been far more impressed with our younguns that have come up than our new buys.

Anasta,Pettybourne,Thompson all dissapointing.Buchanan not bad.

But the boys that have come up look the goods to me,far better than the imports.

Sue,Ava,Spence,Teddy,Akoula have all looked hungrier and sharper than their overpriced brothers so far.

I know its only early…..but I'd be playing the latter guys in front of the former.

I've been impressed with Pettybourne and Thompson so far. Not sold on Anasta but his future is in our halves not our backrow in my opinion

Yes I see value in Thompson's performances, esp consdiering he's only had two runs. Pettyborne inconsistent, that first run from the drop out at Campbo Rd 2 is still his highlight.

Maybe we should hire a referee to coach us on what is penalised and what isn't. I'm sure Storm have utilised something like that before. At least you have a better understanding. Maybe have a hitout at training with the ref refereeing. For the money it costs to pay for this, a win and two points would surely cover any costs. More wins, more bums on seats, more food and drink sales, more money…..Genius!

This is a gee up right??

We trained with refs for weeks during summer, as did all teams.
Its not that we are somewhat ignorant of any rules….its that we cannot compete against bigger stronger faster sides.....we foul to bring them back to our speed.

Buchanan has been good ,bit hard on Thompson at this stage only played 2 games Pettybourne bar one game has been below par

The young uns have impressed so far Sue ,Spence ,Akoula (when given a chance ),Ava

The player who hasn't lifted is BMM ,very disappointed so far this season

Anasta proved to me he is a half ,pure and simple

I was of the same opinion till I read the article about Mosese's death. Happy to cut him some slack.

Understand what your saying Gary , but he should use this as a weapon , a driving force to make his good mate proud

Good point Garry…BMM has been like a yo-yo this year and I was also questioning why. After reading that article where he basically blames himself in some way for Moses's death I sort of understand now. He isnt right mentally. He can and most probably has been trying to use this as a weapon Happy but that sort of emotional outpouring takes its toll and it is hard to replicate each week. Feeling guilty about someones suicide is common and it takes a while to get over. Just hope everyone hangs tight with Ben and helps him get through it.

That is certainly one way of dealing with issues he may have, but everyone is different.
