No changes 2013

I think most people on this Forum would agree :

1\. Teflon Tim needs to move on and give someone else a go..
2\. Blair is the dud of the season
3\. Our Recruitment and Retention people are the 2nd worse in the comp ( after Parramatta )

But of course nothing will change next year. Sheens and Simmons coaching. Benji at half. Blair in 2nd row..etc etc etc..

I think i can name a Sheens team for the first round next year already.

Moltzen (ted coming back thu lower grade )
Ryan
Lawrence
Ayshford ..( still)
Tuquri
Anasta ( Siro thu lower grades )
Marshall
Heigho
Blair
Fulton
Galloway
Farah
Woods

bench..pick your own.

A typical Sheens team.

I agree with point 1\. I believe that Blair has an opportunity to play out of his skin next year and hopefully we will all forget about his form in 2012.

However I don't necessarily think we have recruited poorly. I think it is about what you do with your new players that justifies your recruitment policy. Take Inu for example. I thought he was a fairly dud buy for the Dogs. He had done little at Parra nor the Warriors. But then Hasler says or does the right things and we are talking about him being a superstar.

O'Hara, Harris, Graham, Miles etc probably were not great buys, but guys like Reddy, Brown, Bell are good solid players. We should have been able to take these guys to the next level but we haven't.

If you had have said our ability to develop players is one of the worst in the comp then I may have agreed with you there.

If Tuqiri is re-signed I will have to see a psychiatrist to cope. 😱pen_mouth:

Yeah development needs a little work.
I understand how you feel about Sheens positioning but I think the team will look a little more like this..

1\. Teddy (if at full strength)/Moltz
2\. Koro
3\. Ryan/Ayshford
4\. Lawrence/Ayshford
5\. Tuquiri/Utai
6\. Sirro
7\. Benji
8\. Woods
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Blair
12\. Fults
13\. Anasta

14\. Heighno
15\. BMM
16\. Bell
17\. Thompson/Pettybourne

IMO. I think we have recruited players we won't use. I was first excited about Bodene and Pettybourne signings, but I couldn't find a place to use them other than the bench. And then that pushes certain players into reserve. (I would love to use one instead of Blair, but that will never happen) Eg. Moors and a couple others after players return from injury.

Moltzen will also feature somewhere. Either 1 or possibly 6 depending on other players fitness. And if not then he will be 14 pushing a bench player off.

And then there is Anasta who I think will play 13, based on recent form, but if Sheens decides to use him in halves (after witnessing the depressing state of Moltz there and also Sirro's recovery) then that pushes both of those guys out of the starting 13 and Heighno into lock I'd think.

Either Utai or Tuquiri will get chosen (please be Utai) I wouldn't mind seeing Tuquri or Utai in the centres? Don't know if that'd work and pushing Ayshford into reserve until he finds his old form. And Lawrence will definitely keep his spot. So That's 2 players who miss out in the centres/wing

So after all this taken into account, players are going to miss out next year who don't deserve too.

i think bell has been a great buy for us , but , he would have been evan better with more time on the field , reddy i still rate , but in one position , not moved around , lotti if re signed will be a big mistake , he has been great but passed his best , find a spot within the club sure , but thats it for him , anasta will be a huge plus for us as he can win a game for you in very tite spots , extra time , changes in 2013 will be coming through our current roster , and we do have talent , plus thompson ? pettybourne? wait and see , as for our coach , time to get it right 6 rounds min 4 wins or its your job on the line , 4 more rounds 6 out of 10 , and i think that is still being soft , lets all get to leichhartd and cheer our boys on beat melborrrrrrrrrn and give the rest a shake

I'd be making several changes for next season, otherwise we're no chance of making the 8.

At full strength and injury free:

1\. Tedesco
2\. Koroibete
3\. Ryan (played his junior football in the centres - time to move him back there)
4\. Lawrence
5\. Nofoaluma
6\. Sironen
7\. Marshall
8\. Woods
9\. Farah
10\. Galloway
11\. Anasta
12\. Pettybourne
13\. Heighington

14\. Blair
15\. BMM
16\. Fotuaika
17\. Fulton/Thompson/Moltzen/Utai

I'd be looking to bulk Ayshford up and use him as a backrow option. Moltzen, well at full strength I can't find a spot for him because Tedesco is a better fullback and Sirro is a better 6.

As much as I lovethe dependability of Fulton, the Tigers forward pack needs some more strikepower. Anasta is arguably a better ball player, a little bigger and quicker to boot, plus he has kicking game. Blair has been a disappointment but I'd be looking at starting him off the bench and telling him to put on 3-4kg and rotate him with Anasta. Likewise with BMM and Pettybourne, who both hit the line hard. Give Heighno a breather and put Fulton on to help keep the ruck tidy, and then there's the likes of Thompson, who could be good value, as well as Ayshford who may turn the corner and kick on.

At the end of the day, the Tigers focus should be in regards to playing more direct, and I think this lineup will do that.

I like that line-up willow, a lot different from previous years which I think is a no. 1 change needed in this club.

We will have a lot more depth next year too which I'm looking forward too.

The things I like about that side are that two of the worst performers this year - Moltzen and Ayshford are not in it.

The things I dont like are (1) I just dont think we can carry Anasta as a backrower. I can only see him in the team as 5/8 or not at all and (2) I dont think Ryan cuts it as a centre; he is a 100% player but I can only find room for him in our team on the wing. I would like to see Anasta at 5/8 and Sirro tried out in the centre. That frees up a backrow spot for Bell if he is still with us or even BMM.

Fulton has been one of our best this year and deserves a start at 13 over Rhino

And Anasta will unfortunately have a massive sook and demand - yes demand - (and sheens is weak so will listen) to play in the halves just like he does at the chooks.

It's gonna be another really mediocre year guys GET SET WHOOOHOOO!!!

I think Anasta will be the perfect foil for Marshall tbh.

1\. Moltzen
2\. Koroibete
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Ryan
6\. Anasta
7\. Marshall
8\. Galloway
9\. Farah
10\. Woods
11\. Fulton
12\. Blair
13\. Heighington

14\. Murdoch-Masila
15\. Fotuiaka
16\. Pettybourne
17\. Sironen

Is how I expect us to run out in round one.

What's our recruitment policy ?
We would be going a lot better with a Noel Cleal or Peter O'Sullivan doing our recruiting there is no doubt about that.

Honestly the moment Sheens mans up and benches or drops Blair is the moment he will start performing. Pettybourne is playing twice as good as Blair and he's not even a good player. Drop Blair and he might actually start trying

I'd love to see the Tigers chase the signature of Cody Walker from Easts Brisbane… He reminds me alot of Ben Barba and while he is currently playing 5/8, I think he could be switched to Fullback and add depth playing in the NSW Cup.

[yeah yeah, whatever Happy  ]

Watto I think even our NSW counterparts know that signing someone from your old club would be absolute lunacy :crazy

Even the Ipswich Jets still have Ian Lacey who seriously would be a good back up for Robbie Farah

Get him a transfer to the NSW police and we are laughing

I expect Fotuiaka to be selected ahead of the likes of Bell, Moors, Thompson as Sheensies 2013 project. He'll probably use him as a battering ram for 12 minutes a game and ruin him. Tedesco will start in reggies. Sirro will be the 3 minute player. BMM and Pettybourne will be used as battering rams as well.
