There's one island missing tiger_one....and it's called Australia.
Champion @BZN - you're so right.

But I had flashbacks to 1982 when during the Opening Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, performers created a map of Australia that omitted Australia - so I was giving Tazzie it's moment in the sun!

I have been reading on a referendum held in 1967 regarding the establishment of a New state of Australia encompassing the New England, Northern Rivers and the Hunter regions.
The vote took place on the 29/4/1967 and was defeated 54/46%( approx 30,000 votes on total votes of 400,000 approx.
It basically came down to most of the Hunter voting no whilst the north Coast and New England voted yes. Armidale was earmarked to be the capital.
All this astounded me because I can’t remember reading or hearing of it before, and one wonders if it had been passed how many other regions would have pursued it.
Anyway, the old saying is “you’re never too old to learn “ and anyone interested can find the whole story on Wikipedia.

I remember that and it was being pushed by some of the locals up there because they believed all the money was being spent by the NSW government in Newcastle Sydney or Wollongong and that was what NSW stood for at the time.
Now you can see why idiots like Barnaby Joyce get elected up there
