To me, 'rugby' should be used by either rugby league or rugby union. I think it is a crime that rugby union gets away with ownership of the word 'rugby' like it does in Australia.
always hated that AFL is referred to as "aussie rules"
their ad didn't look as tough as the NRL one.
if I had never heard of either sport, NRL would be my pick because of how brutal it was portrayed in the ad, compared to the AUSSIE RULES ad.

the afl ad was shocking.
all they showed was player reactions.where were the big marks.
one of the best things is the big speccy,and they only show one.
should have at least shown andrew walkers grab from last year.
fox just sucks at everything.

The full term is " Rugby League "
Always has and always will be. NRL stands for " National Rugby League "
ARL, and QRL, NSWRL, NSWJRLFC, all of these bodies have Rugby League in them.
Perhaps when RL broke away from RU, they didn't realise how big both games would become in this century :laughing: otherwise they may have thought up something different when J.J.Giltenan formed the " Rugby League " working party to get it off the ground.
