Both Moses and Brooks dominated the lower grades even more so than Martin.
They were thrown into permanent first grade spots before they would normally have been and plenty of people are [automatically edited] about their inconsistency - now there is a push to do the same thing to Martin.
We already have too many young heads in the team now and there is no way Martin is better (at this moment) than the two halves we are using now.

Great post CK, I haven't seen our current position summarised any better. Spot on in my opinion.

I do hope we manage to keep him though, but it looks unlikely.

Would be relevant if there was actually a push to play Martin in the top grade but there isnt, just a few guys on a forum.

**99% of people supporting him on here just want him to remain at the club.**

**Ck and the like always makes it about Moses and Brooks, they are happy for Martin to go elsewhere.**

Don't know about 'the like' but I have already said we should try and keep him.
My issue is that he needs more time before being considered for a full time first grade gig.

Thanks Happy. And Martin now is putting pressure on our two NRL halves which can only be a good thing for the club. Imagine Brooks having a stint in NSW Cup while Moses moves to half and Martin to 5/8.

Would rather see Moses in NSWCup and Martin tried at 5/8 in Firsts.
Can he tackle????

Have you ever seen him play?

only glimpses in a couple on TV NYC games,
It was a genuine question, as I would be interested to see someone we have , who has talent as a 5/8 , and can tackle.

Maybe you should watch him play a bit before you start advocating for him to replace Moses.

I think like me we all get a bit emotional when we think of the possibility of Martin wearing the jersey of another team. It stinks big time and the NRL must act to protect clubs like WTs.

Larry,
That's why I asked the question to those who had seen more of him than I have,
I was merely stating that if he was to be there, I would rather he replaced Moses than Brooks.
In fact I would rather see anyone there who could tackle.

Which halves in the comp can tackle in your opinion GC Tiger?

There sure aren't many. There's a reason why halves make up nearly all the top missed tackle counts.

I don't rate his defense (Martin).

Moses is too good for NSW cup. You can go watch the highlights as well from last year on the NSW RL website.

I also wonder if people remember Moses scoring tries and getting 203 try assists, kicking 40/20s etc in NSW Cup?

yes, he and Korobiete absolutely killed it. Scored on debut (Similar to Te Maire) . Kid's (Moses) got a big heart and tries anything. I remember he cost us in one game where he tried a short kick off against Mounties when the tigers were up by 4 I think. It failed. Next set Cornish throws a nice short ball and they win.

Truth of the matter is Moses is talented and will try anything.

I also remember a young Fullback by the name of James Tedesco Shredding an under 20's Melbourne team in only his 1st

Look how that bloke turned out. :stuck_out_tongue:

our problem isn't that we have one that's below average, we have two,
Even the Rorters, who have Maloney , who had the worst defensive stats a month or so back in RLW ( Moses was second worst). Have Pearce , therefore only one target.
Very few have two.
As well as that we don't have a strong enough team to cover for two.
Is hard enough to hide one bad defender, but almost impossible to hide two at once

Martin will not replace anyone at all at the moment , as he is even more inexperienced than what we have now.
I was merely pointing out that if someone(anyone ) was to replace one of our halves my opinion that I'd rather see it be Moses than Brooks that was replaced.

Brooks doesn't make the top 10..does for try assists tho

http://rugbyleagueweek.com.au/top-10s/

1 James Maloney (Sydney Roosters) 55
2 Lachlan Burr (Gold Coast) 52
3 Chris Sandow (Parramatta) 46
3 Mitchell Moses (Wests Tigers) 46
5 Ben Hunt (Brisbane) 43
6 Danny Wicks (Parramatta) 42
7 Jeff Robson (Cronulla) 41
7 Shaun Johnson (Warriors) 41
7 Aidan Sezer (Gold Coast) 41
10 Johnathan Thurston (North Queensland) 39

Very few teams have two young halves learning their trade in the NRL. We simply don't have the luxury of other clubs in being able to have at least one experienced half in the pair such as Elgey (nearly a year older than our pair) and Sexer at the Titans.

But if both Brooks and Moses came onto to the market no doubt there would be a queue of clubs to sign them.

Thanks Geo,
The one I saw was a direct comparison on the halves andb5/8s
About a month or so back
It didn't include other positions

Effective tackle % for halfbacks from best to worst - I have included Moses as well for Comparison
As you can see Moses is actually one of the better defensive halves in the comp, prob doesen't compare as wel to 5/8s and Brooks isn't too bad with quite a few worse all of whom have much more exerience

M Pearce 88.80%
DCE 87.80%
C Cronk 85.50%
trent hodkinson 85.10%
Ben Hunt 84%
P Wallace 82.90%
Mitch Moses 82.80%
J Robson 82.60%
S Williams 82.40%
Adam Reynolds 81.40%
J Thurston 78.80%
Luke Brooks 77.40%
T Roberts 77.10%
S Johnson 76%
Kane Elgey 75.90%
C Sandow 74%
B Marshall 73.40%
