He'll be breathing down Tedesco's neck next year.

He's the closest we have to Tedesco in the squad and if our team trained with Tedesco in the 1 and that is affecting our form, we could do worse than Rowe playing next week!

Wests Tigers recorded a strong 36-24 win over South Sydney at Allianz Stadium today in round 5 of the NYC competition.

It was the team's fourth win in 5 games under new Coach Todd Payten.

Wests Tigers got off to a great start when prop Nathan Brown charged over under the posts off a tap kick taken 10 metres out from the Souths line. Five eighth Manaia Rudolph converted for a 6-0 lead after 5 minutes.

It became 10-0 when winger Sitaleki Akaoula scored off a crossfield grubber kick. Rudolph converted from the sideline for a 12-0 lead after 15 minutes.

South Sydney got on the board in the 25th minute when second-rower Blake Matthews crossed behind the posts. Hooker Apisai Koroisau converted the try for a 12-6 scoreline.

Three minutes later, Souths were in again when half-back and captain Luke Keary finished off a break by Brad Croad to score under the posts. Koroisau converted the try for a 12-all scoreline.

Nine minutes from half-time, centre Matt Evans burrowed his way over from dummy half next to the posts. Rudolph converted the try to give Wests Tigers an 18-12 lead.

The score remained that way till half-time.

Three minutes later, Wests Tigers were denied a try through second-rower Brodie Monroe after the referee ruled an obstruction.

A good short flick pass by forward turned winger Akaoula saw Evans dive over for his second try. Rudolph converted from the sideline to give Wests Tigers a 36-18 lead after 67 minutes.

How's Miller going? Is he trying to show sheens what he's missing out on?

/\

I thought he went well, in fact I thought he looked to be playing at a level higher than most of the other boys. Sometimes he seems guilty of only doing the minimum that he needs to, and maybe that doesn't look the best and reflects badly but there is no doubt he can organise and at times seemed to be toying with the opposition defence.

I am also frustrated that he doesn't seem to get a reasonable go at NRL but the word was he went off injured last week so perhaps he was given extra time to be fit enough to play but in that case only for NYC?

i thought it was interesting that toddy moved akaoula from the wing to the forwards in the second half and this young bloke was very difficult to tackle and he offloaded on a number of occasions when there were two or three defenders on him. i know they were only playing a bunch of hacks, but the big unit definately looked promising in the forwards.
toddy has very good squad of goers with ability.
