The ARLC has agreed all clubs operating outside of Queensland must revert to original Apollo biosecurity protocols.

Players and staff within team bubbles will not be allowed to attend venues including cafes, restaurants, pubs, beaches and golf courses to avoid community contact during the current spike in COVID-19 cases.

Restrictions on home visitors will also return.

Clubs based in Queensland will remain under current protocols.

ARLC Chairman Peter V'landys AM said the Commission had taken decisive action due to the rapidly changing COVID-19 landscape.

"We won't take any risks with our players and the community," V'landys said.

"All our decisions are based on the data and we've said from the start, if the data changes then we will be proactive and take the necessary action required.

"We are enforcing the original protocols to ensure our players are not mixing with the general community. We are doing everything we can to keep the playing group healthy during this period.

"Our experts are continuing to monitor the data. We don't make decisions based on emotion, we make them based on data. We hope it's only a short spike in the infection rate, but the Commission has shown we will be agile and make the appropriate changes."

V'landys thanked the players and the clubs for their adherence to biosecurity protocols.

"I want to congratulate our players, staff and clubs who have been brilliant throughout the process," he said.

"The players have done the right thing and when there has been a mistake clubs have been very quick to report any breach. That's exactly how we wanted the process to work."

Leichhardt is no fortress, our recent record there is abysmal

The spiratual home of Leichardt will be back bigger than ever next year along with Campbo
Rest of the year surely nrl has to use ANZ and Parra only

So this would mean a temporary suspension to fans attending games you would assume?

Depends if there is another Crossroads Hotel or not. If there is, it's not just attending footy you need to worry about, because at least that's in a large outdoor area.

Be very surprised if we are not back to lockdown mode within two weeks. The spread is starting to get some speed up here in NSW and I really don’t know how the can pull it back without a lockdown. Without a vaccine and that is probably a year away at best we are going to be in and out of lockdowns for ages.

They may try and move the clubs out of NSW if it gets bad. Same as the Mexicans did with the AFL.

Plans in place if it gets to that point apparently

Wonder how many NRL-level stadia there are in NT.

Or here's a novel idea - ship the whole thing over to New Zealand, like the opposite of what the Warriors just had.

A very good option IMO
