Penalty Goals

Packed out Campbelltown Stadium, high error rate from the other team, great field position.

Plus, our record of scoring points in the opening 10 minutes, ESPECIALLY at home, is impeccable.

Was I the only one completely baffled.

And then, AND THEN, to miss…...

Looked like an order from Sheens, might of been just me but Farah didn't look too happy when they decided to take the 2.

the first one … border line ok

the 2nd one ... ridiculous

it sent a message to the roosters that we wern't confident to cross their line .

by contrast ... the roosters had a chance to lock the game up at 8-8 and declined ... sending a very different message .

Having lost our last 2 games I wasnt all that against taking the 2\. If we had of one by 2 most would have been happy I'd think. Farah did not look happy with the decision taking the 2nd one, which Benji missed some how.

the seoncd one farah wanted the tap but sheens sent the message out to take the 2, great call that one

It was in front. Benji kicks it who knows how the game may have ended up. You cant blame the decision on the missed goal.

We don't look like we know what to do when we get a penalty in the opposition half. And too much time is wasted making a decision. Instead of taking the quick tap or a quick kick into touch we seem to waste the time while we have the opposition on the back foot.

I saw a tiny bit of sense in it.

When they decided to kick the 2nd time, I thought "Well normally if we score one try from two sets in an attacking zone, thats a good result, so 4-0 doesnt seem so bad as normally Benji misses his widish kicks anyway"

Am I nuts or what? lol

shows our complete lack of faith in our attack, tigers of the past wouldnt have took the 2 they definatly wouldnt have taken the second shot at goal. our own players are lacking the belief that they can score points

Probably the only club in the comp that still goes for goal, another legacy from a bloke who should be coaching o/s getting his pension instead of directing us to another season of despair

I stuck my thumbs in my ears and wiggled my toes snorting "oink oink Benji will kick this"….and surely enough it didn't work..
What a dud ritual that was...

The first attempt did make sense. We were about a minute forty into the match and had not really sustained any pressure. I believe that Sheens wants a "Tie-breaker" when there is no pressure on. How many times have we been beaten by a field goal etc and have not been able to kick on under pressure.

Consider the game against Parramatta, Benji plots filed goal on half time - again a "tie breaker"with no pressure.

I think the strategy has some merit however I cannot fathom why we would do the second penalty attempt today. We had them under pressure and simply released it
