I think Taylorball was terrible. I think our scramble is good though. It's very 05 like. Our team is actually 05 like. We can play some great attacking footy. We have a young team.

2005 was the worst thing that could of ever happened to the WT's

Happy, I've followed the Magpies/WT since 1959, and in all that time my team has won the grand total of 1 premiership - 2005\. And now your saying that it was the worst thing that could have happened to the club. I understand where your coming from, but you'll understand if I respectfully disagree. For me it was the happiest moment in my football-following life.

And I totally understand where you and many other supporters come from

And I felt the same way , but how we haven't turned that success into anything is disgraceful

Same goes for 2010-2011 , yes because of the salary cap most clubs have limited windows

We should of built on that , but we fell flat on our face

If we become a success again , we need to build on it , become a consistent Top 6 side

Happy you are 100% correct, we need to have a really good management team in place that not only governs for the present but looks to build on what we have so we don't end up in a financial mess again.
Hopefully with a decent board that aren't spending all their time fighting with each other, and a good CEO we can turn WT into a powerhouse.
The West Tigers are liked by a lot of supporters from other clubs as their second team, and we have a very strong and passionate supporter base.

While there may not be a lot of difference ladder wise, I see an improvement in maturity and attitude compared to last year.. The young blokes are growing up, it's becoming their team and this is evident in Woodsy scaling things back a little to when he first hit the scene…. He's pacing himself well as well... We are less reliant on him than we were and the team ethos seems positive

I agree Ink. There is no guarantee anyway that another coach would do better. Im happy knowing things seem to be going in a positive direction. Even the coach haters would surely concede that.

Agreed, there is no guarantee and yes there has been a change in maturity. Each year players get older and wiser through life experiences and game time. This change in maturity has little to do with the Coach. Even the Coach lovers would surely concede that.

Thats is an insane comment happy.

I know what your saying but its still insane.

Mate we still have people raving about it and how we should emulate it

Lose a tight one v the Dragons in 2005 and the players would of got hungry and Sheens wouldn't have got a hundred years deal

The club got rewarded for mediocrity and bleed it dry for all it was worth

I know it's not popular , but I've said it on here a few times now

Be interesting to see how the WT's in a parallel universe that lost that semi are going

I don't see many people raving about it.

People were calling for Sheens head as early as 07.

You should go live there in that parallel universe…The only one who seems obsessed with it is you..

No. I dont concede that.
They are working with each other pretty much 7 days a week. You clearly have never been involved in team sports

Agree also, I have been impressed with how the team has conducted itself on the field this year (Canberra pummeling aside). It's a shame we lost 6 in a row or however many it was early in the season, we were pretty much in all of those games, and maybe it has put the team in better stead now. There doesn't seem to be as much panic out on the field and while our defence isn't great, i reckon our scramble defence is among the best in the comp, there's plenty of effort out there.

Yeah but many still thought he could still a 2005 out of his kyhber pass

Its not a popular opinion , I know , but we would probably be in a much better place now

JT has a short memory, I remember Penrith smashing us with Lovett playing in the centres, scored every try down his side nearly, well he put Lovett in there again against the Saints, bombed a try and let one in so JT doesn't use his brain much I'm sorry to say

If Lovett was playing centres where was Naiqama or Simona moved to???

Rankin went to dummy half….Kev wing...Lovett centre

Short 5 to 10 minute stint but t did happen

Hahaha  Kenny Powers quote from tv show….Eastbound & Down

It's a great comedy tv show

:deadhorse: Lovett vs Penrith wow it was bad but the team would have not won the game anyway lets move on

I am more worried when people don't learn from there mistakes …... Chris Lawrence was off the field who else can cover center?

Should Taylor carry a center on the bench is that what people on here want ..

Criticism is good but what answer do you have when Chris is off the field who do you put there please someone answer this

Robbie Farah would be worse at center then Lovett

I totally understand your reasoning with your Q Re who else can cover centre. The answer is MCK but from all reports his reserve grade form has been iffy.Unless JT bites the bullet and plays JAC on wing and puts Rankin as utility bench spot.

We nearly won the comp in 2010 that was a very near miss. Also 2011 we werent that far away.I agree with your views but Sheens came mighty close to a second Wests Tigers premiership.

Gould likes the Tigers for a very good reason. Since the merger, we have generally played entertaining, attacking football and have produced several brilliant, creative players in that time. Does anyone remember his own playing style? He was a creative, ball playing second rower, the type of player that doesn't exist any more, and he loves seeing the ball tossed around just like he did in the early 80s.
