1\. Moltzen - 28 metres in attack, 2 tackle breaks, 6 tackles, 1 error.

The good - Came up with a try saver in the first half and another in the second half.

The bad -28 metres in attack :bash Came up with a simple knock on in the first half and completely dogged it in attack as his stats show. No support play evident and repeatedly looked to offload it to his wingers when fielding kick returns rather than putting his head down and racing 20 metres up field. Should not be playing fullback plain and simple and is lucky to hold a spot in FG.

2\. Ryan - 53 metres in attack, 5 tackle breaks, 5 tackles, 1 missed tackle, 1 error.

The good - Very solid in the first half when the Tigers were under the pump and struggling to stay in the game. Defensively he was good and he almost scored a try in the first half.

The bad - Pretty quiet in attack.

3\. Ayshford - 54 metres in attack, 1 try, 1 offload, 11 tackles, 2 missed tackles.

The good - Scored another good try, defended well in general.

The bad - Quiet in attack overall and came up with a poor miss in conjunction with Lui on Shane Rodney.

4\. Lawrence - 161 metres in attack, 1 try, 1 line break, 1 offload, 6 tackle breaks, 16 tackles, 1 missed tackle, 1 error.

The good - Scored a good try, almost scored a couple of others but cut down by desperate Manly cover defence. Defensively he was fine.

The bad - Arguably should have passed when he made his first clean break in the second half, but replays showed Cherry-Evans had Farah covered if he did offload it. Knocked a cross-field bomb on in the first half.

5\. Utai - 111 metres in attack, 1 offload, 3 tackle breaks, 5 tackles.

The good - Ended up being safe at the back despite Manly aiming a couple of bombs at him. Came up with a couple of good one on one tackles. Proved hard to bring to ground with the ball in hand.

The bad - Can't jump…

6\. Marshall - 86 metres in attack, 1 goal, 2 try assists, 2 line break assists, 2 line breaks, 7 tackle breaks, 9 tackles, 6 missed tackles, 2 errors.

The good - Started to show his renowned play making ability tonight, some of his passes and play were just superb. Short kicking game was effective. Broke plenty of tackles.

The bad - Missed a simple conversion and quite a few of his long kicks and bombs did not result in pressure being applied on Manly. 6 missed tackles is a horrible stat to see, but a lot of them were from rushing out of the line to put pressure on Manly's backline.

7\. Lui - 64 metres in attack, 1 try, 2 line breaks, 6 tackle breaks, 14 tackles, 7 missed tackles, 1 error.

The good - Ran a great line to score the Tigers opening try, came up with a couple of line breaks and broke plenty of tackles.

The bad - Can't tackle, sticks his arm out lazily far too often and it looks VERY bad. If only he can fix up his defence and work harder, he'll go alright. 7 missed tackles in the end and 13 between he and Benji which is not what you want from your halves.

8\. Gibbs - 127 metres in attack, 1 tackle break, 24 tackles.

The good - Did the hard yards in a tough battle of the ruck tonight. Defended well.

The bad - No real complaints tonight, did the tough stuff and did it well so thumbs up all around for Bryce.

9\. Farah - 43 metres in attack, 1 line break, 1 line break assist, 1 try assist, 3 tackle breaks, 32 tackles, 1 missed tackle, 2 errors.

The good - Good service out of dummy half in general. Short kicking game was alright.

The bad - Two simple errors which should not have been made.

10\. Galloway - 198 metres in attack, 1 line break, 3 tackle breaks, 21 tackles, 4 missed tackles.

The good - Great go forward all night and almost cracked the magical 200 metre mark in attack. Defended well.

The bad - 3 missed tackles but they were inconsequential in the end.

11\. Fulton - 84 metres in attack, 1 offload, 4 tackle breaks, 44 tackles, 1 error.

The good - Safe with the ball in hand, defended well and topped the tackle count for the Tigers. Went well up the middle and out on the edges.

The bad - One error.

12\. Ellis - 98 metres in attack, 1 offload, 27 tackles, 6 missed tackles.

The good - Strong with the ball and came up with some very good hits in defence.

The bad - Copped a knock to the eye on his first hit up and missed 6 tackles which is uncharacteristic.

13\. Heighington - 109 metres in attack, 1 offload, 6 tackle breaks, 21 tackles, 2 missed tackles.

The good - Consistent game once again and did the hard yards through the middle. Broke plenty of tackles.

The bad - Hard to fault Heighno's performance last night.

14\. Brown - Didn't get a run.

15\. Payten - 16 metres in attack, 15 tackles.

The good - Not much really.

The bad - Looks to be playing at 70-80% out there. Does not look fit and I daresay his body has pretty much had enough.

16\. Woods - 97 metres in attack, 1 line break, 1 offload, 5 tackle breaks, 22 tackles, 4 missed tackles, 1 error.

The good - Behind Galloway he offered good go forward and came up with a nice line break. Defended well again except for one brain melt. Broke plenty of tackles.

The bad - Coughed the ball up once in a tackle and fell for a push in the face by George Rose which allowed Matt Ballin to slide right past him and score. Hopefully he learns from that.

18\. Groat - 41 metres in attack, 8 tackles.

The good - Handled himself ok in limited game time.

The bad - Gave away two consecutive penalties in the second half which fortunately did not come back to bite the Tigers.

Try assists - 3
Offloads - 7
Line breaks - 8
Line break assists - 3
Tackles made - 280
1 on 1 tackles - 21
Missed tackle - 35
Tackle breaks - 52
Total metres - 1370
Errors - 9
Penalties - 4
Possession - 55%
Completion rate - 28/36 = 78%

I would have thought so too but that's what they say.

I was a great team effort. Very happy with the result.

We are still taking some poor options in attack though, which is a concern.

Hi Willow, those numbers on Robbie and Bryce running can't be right.

The stats are always adjusted once the stat people get to watch the game a second time to accurately record everything. I shall update the stats in the morning.

i wouldnt play groat again next week. no doubt he will be a very good first grader but its hard to imagine fifita and moors are worse then him atm

Yeah mate, Gibbs made close to 150m in attack.

I don't think it will be that high mate, but he went alright all the same.

Yeah can't say Gibbs did 150m, but he would have gone close to 100 surely. He was dynamite in attack.

thanks willow.
for the team it would appear that if two areas can be adressed/ sorted out, Moltzen running the ball back and Lui's defence, then a strong overall team package is there.

pretty good stats all round, but its a pity they dont have a stat for intensity & grind. Our boys won both these areas which layed the platform for a great win.

Thoughts on Payten - I've always been a fan for his work and defensive ability, but he was looking like a pensioner out there tonight. Bye Bye or give him time???

Bryce and Liam were playing like mad man! Great game by both of them. I thought our starting pack was very good in d and attack.

Finally the attitude is right.

Defense is good, although we're still the worst wrestlers in the comp. Cue Adam Blair for 2012.

Things to Improve-
1\. kicking game,
2 basic knock-ons (first half),
3 getting out of own half with ball.

Nothing major- a little fine tuning and we are a chance against any side.

I just don't think he's match fit Watto. Looked like he sustained a hand/finger injury last night also. He'll get better with more game time.

Pretty good stats considering we played with a three-man bench. Poor Mitch must have copped a cold sitting on the bench.

The biggest thing we got out of tonight was Confidence . Confidence we can beat the top sides and Confidence we are probably moving in the right direction
If we can supply a performance like that against the Saints it will hold us in good stead for the last 4 weeks

I thought Fulton was good tonight he ran the ball up with plenty of gusto all night . We just need to get him running wider and being more creative

You could see the confidence in all their faces after the game a real season changing game IMO. Icant bet on my own team it jinxs it but I did say before the nth old game to a mate put $$ on us to win 2011 value for $$ and we will turn it around, last night proved we had imo I now really really like our chances this yr!!!!

Player and team stats have now been updated in my original post. Some great stats in there and some not so great summed up below:

The Good:

Lawrence and Utai both made over 100 metres in attack out wide, Rowdy racking up 161 metres;
Galloway, Gibbs and Heighno all making over 100 metres in attack in the forwards with big Keith almost making 200 metres in attack;
A massive 52 tackle breaks made by the team with Lawrence, Ryan, Lui, Marshall, Heighno and Woods all breaking plenty of tackles (35 between them);
Marshall and Lui coming up with 2 line breaks each; and
Marshall and Farah's short kicking games resulting in numerous line drop outs.

The Bad:

Moltzen making 28 metres in attack from 8 runs - that's an average of 3.5 metres per run;
Marshall, Lui and Ellis missing 19 tackles between them; and
Poor old Payten looks like he's on his last legs out there at the moment.
