Player Sponsorship by Forum Members

Good idea.Probably missed the boat this season with regards to the planning and organising, probably more realistic for 2011\. Also $8,000 is a lot of money to raise, would be interesting to see the number of interested parties you get. Correct me if i'm wrong, but I think it may be a bit much for one forum to achieve, after all $100 is a lot of money to pass over, and if people were to give the lower figure mentioned, I think it was $20, you are obviously going to need a lot more people. What I'm trying to say is that you may have to include other supporter groups (ie other forums (are their any?) and any supporter clubs). Would be good to see it happen though, likeminded and willing people giving to the team they breath and possibly helping a good cause. Makes a lot of sense.

Not a bad idea.
If someone could contact the club and get the run down of how it would work, how much it would cost, what benefits we would receive out of it etc then we'd have a clearer picture.

Although Kul has said that some factions at the club don't like the idea of our forum, we might be able to go to them with the idea, and let them know what we will be doing with our benefits i.e charities, junior teams etc, they might be able to do us some sort of favourable deal as in the end the Tigers will be the winners..

I like the idea and would love to be involved, maybe if it was set up for next year a weekly deposit system could be set up as $5 a week wouldn't be missed and over the course of 12 months would add up to quite a significant amount.

Ahh so that's how you got the $8,000 figure. Who would be getting all them benefits?

Dude, pls refer to my first post as I have already discussed these things

hmmm, i have a feeling there may be problems. The book says a link to the sponsors website from the club home page is part of the sponsorship. The nrl has mandated that the only forums allowed are the dodgy big pond ones & was it strathfield car radios or someone who weren;t allowed to sponsor a team a month or 3 ago due to competing sponsorships?
Hopefully common sense will prevail but common sense is often in very short supply.
(really hope it does though because it would be very cool!)

I really like this idea! I think it would be awesome if someone like Lote Tuqiri or Robbie Farah/Benji Marshall ran on to the field and it came up saying "This player brought to you by the 'weststigersforum.com' ". That would be so sweet!!! It would show the team how much support they are receiving on top of ticketed members!!!

I'd guess players of that profile would command much much more than the minimum amounts suggersted here…as someone else mentuioned I'd guess a fringe player would be the budget we're looking at here

I like the idea. Especially if it is sponsoring a fringe player, a up and comer, as I know personal sponsorships are not easy for them to come by

This is a great idear i was thinking the same… i will put money in lets pick 3 young players and help them them stay at the tigers
