Apologies if this has already been covered but I saw the ABC's Media Watch on IView only a few days ago.
I am appalled at the comments that had been made leading up to the game, in particular those coming from one of our former greats (and at least one other former player).
If this is the attitude we take going into games (and ultimately end up with eggs on our faces), and if the NRL hasn't seen it proper to step in and condemn them, then we really are living in the past. And before anyone asks, this is not about political correctives, or some "left-wing" whine - this has to do with respect for an individual's dignity.
Hopefully a lesson learned for next game. But I doubt it.
