Protect players from themselves

On footy show today Corey Parker talking about returning to play SOO 3\. Had a badly fractured eye socket where doctor said 6 weeks and you'll be OK. He returns after 4 weeks and it still looks bruised in that area. Tells us that we don't live in a perfect world.

Then he goes on about Cooper Cronk and his broken arm. Doctor advised him the arm will take 8 weeks to fully heal. It is just on 5 weeks. Again he tells us that players don't live in a perfect world.

Geez I'd be shirty if I was the coach or CEO of the NRL team. A player coming back early from injury into the hardest games of the season. Even as a fan I wouldn't be impressed if he re-injures that injury.

$30 grand for 80 minutes work no wonder they wanna come back early

Not a strong enough argument. These guys are on big coin at their clubs.

If Farah or Woods were injured in Game 3 I'm expecting the Forum to go into meltdown

I can accept injuries in any game but my point is for players to come back too early, especially in the origin arena, is stupidity.

It seems that the origin coaches leave it entirely up to the player. I am sure that NRL coaches don't take that attitude because they have the whole season to get through. Not just 3 games.

Im not arguing either way.
Their clubs play them injured anyway…so its all a bit meh

They have to pass medicals

It would be madness to go into SOO games with blokes who aren't right

Having known Peter Betros for almost 30 years I couldn't possibly imagine the man to allow the selectors to pick anyone who isn't right to go

The man has a heart as big as an elephant and probably cares too much for his own good
