Referees

Unfortunately I think with some rules , due to the stuffing around by Harrigan and the hierachy of the NRL the referees are as clueless as the fans .

Make things clear and concise or KISS would be more appropriate for everyone involved in the game to be honest

Someone was telling me yesterday how they were watching with a mate and how confused they were with that try. If it looks bad or cannot be understood, then it's probably bad and wrong.

I no longer laugh at Union how referees dictate outcomes. We are worse! I've been following for 40 years, and I have never seen it this bad, and that's with three refs and unlimited replays!!!!!

Honestly the refs must be gettin paid by teams to deliberately throw games for the opposition. And then you watch a game where no team gets justice and then it's like :s

just a leader will do.
at the moment we got nothing.

Back when the refs were first going through a saga (about 4 or 5 months ago - before State of Origin) it came out that things like bi-weekly development meetings focusing on improvement, and consistency had originally been tabled BY Harrigan himself!

However in practise they have only had something like three or four of these meetings - in almost two years. It screams of poor attitude, and a template doomed from the start - If you cannot adhere to even the most basic of work routines (I.e - organising a fortnightly meeting amongst 20-30 employees!) then you need to have a long, good hard look at yourself.

In a normal workplace you would call what Harrigan does classic "Seagull Management" - He flies in, makes a lot of noise, craps on criticism, and then leaves.

Harrigan is a god-damed hoax. Plain and Simple.

In turn he's turning good referees into bad referees and inflicting unneeded stress upon these poor guys. Cummins, Maxwell, Hayne, Archer, Hampstead, Ceccin- these are all guys who we give grief for their bad decisions, yet who have proven to be decent refs in the past (All Tigers Bias Aside) - So what the hell has happened over the last two years??

Hollywood Harrigan has happened - The Independant commission needs to sack this bloke as a matter of urgency.

I would like to go back to one referee. The two refs system is too inconsistent. One ref holds a bigger ten, the other has a quicker play the ball. Back to one please.

The farcical display from the video ref on Friday I think opens up the possibility for two refs in the box. Surely if Hampstead had someone with him they could've pointed out the moment where the ball touched the ground for the Farah try

go back to one referee and stop using the replay system ,if they get it wrong in the heat of the moment they get it wrong and the game moves on .
we have two refs ,two touchies and a bloke in the box and they have a dozen looks and still cant get it right ,so clearly this sytem does not work .The refs are too open to scrutiny and are scared to make a wrong call , either that or they are corrupt and are making these calls simply because not much if anything is done when they do stuff up.
the game has made way too many rule changes over the years and not many have been for the better .
And lastly i DESPISE golden point ,after 80 its a draw and both teams get a point ,but because the game is run by television and the TAB the powers that be wont have the nads to change

Farah scored or it was a benefit of the doubt try & Dogs last try should not have been awarded. On 9 footy show Sunday Sterling, A Johns, Fittler & guest player Todd Carney agree with me on these 2 points. They feared a referee mistake/s will decide a G.F.
Will be interesting to hear what referees boss Harrigan says in his report of this game on Monday.

In extra time Tigers had great field position to set up a winning field goal but like in so many do or die games in the last 3 years they simply failed under pressure. IMO if possible Benji & not Farah should be taking winning field goal attempts. Also if we are being truthful the Tigers have played some patchy, poor footy for most of the season & have lost too many games to deserve a GF appearance.

No wonder refs don't know what they are doing.
