Me? No way, not into fossils. I find the American political situation really false. Everyone just talked in bloated empty rhetoric, all the elite people, very little awareness of the world, stupidly trotting on about American greatness. I avoid it where possible.

Important to spend time thinking about our own political situation. Generally feel I'm not well informed about domestic issues, so try to pay attention to us. And I think both sides of politics here are heaps better than either American party.
Agreed wholeheartedly.

The Australian system is so much better. A quote from Bob Carr sticks in my head [America is the most watched election and it's a ] "Shambles". Two parties, who in 2000 were not that different (now somewhat different), real choice forbidden.

Australia, heck if you don't like Labor or Liberal you have the Greens, Freemarijuana, Lambie network, One Nation, Families First, plus a whole stack of minor parties. Compairing the Australian politicial scene to America is like Compairing a Porsche to a mopehead.

The more we look to America, the worse Australian politics is. Yet America really tries to forklift it's ideology and young Australian politicians are often encouraged to visit America for it's elections.... Really we need to look elsewhere.

The question was asked how to extend their life expectancy.
Piss, drugs, sugar, tobacco. Most indulge in at least 3 of these on a daily basis.
An Aboriginal community in the Northern Territory tried getting the local Bottle'o shut down for 6 hours a day.
Meaning it was a 24 hour Bottle'o. The community wanted it shut down for 6 hours. 2am till 8am.

This was denied by the NT government.

^That is why we need the Voice.

Albo started this nonsense and has given us nothing from the start, don't you thing it would have been a good idea before spending 300 million to provide better then it "will feel good" and to "back an idea". Vote yes if you want your fuzzy feeling tank filled to the brim, BUT just like Albos handling of the economy we will all soon be running on empty
Nope

I have been to Papua Niu Guinea, They have far more pride then the Australian Aboriginal.

The No team has No answer. None at all.

The problems that Aboriginal Australia face, will remain. Vote No, accept that Tuberculosis a third world disease will remain in our country. Vote yes, it may change.

,Imo the vote is 4 the city folk(greedy woke what ever creed).just another excuse 2 dine out implementing not 1 i ota from it over the next 80 years(they'll song n dance it 2yrs)if???and all their kids will go2 private schools n get tutored flute lessons.a heap of cash n talking heads saying they tried, but the country folk didnt listen.never a way to run a country if it doesn't stack up 2 Grannys budget buster, funny that Granddad was a drunken sailor

Let's vote for a 'MAY'

Just straight up admitting you have no idea what you are actually voting for. Scary, yet it's fascinating to see in current time how people were propagandised so easily into burning books in 1930s Germany.

What's the YES campaigns solution here? All i have heard is a big fat Nothing.
The solution is to just vote YES because it will give you a warm and fuzzy feeling, you don't want to be a racist NO voter who annoyingly asks too many questions about how it will all works do you?

Don't worry, Albo and his radical academic mates will work it all out later on (if they can ever get the story straight and agree on anything), trust me we're only here to help.

The yes team think the answer is to keep on making the same mistakes.
The Yes team voted overwhelmingly to scrap ATSIC, Now they want us to vote for the same thing but on steroids, one that can’t be closed down.
An ATSIC by any other name…
I haven’t heard anyone in the yes team describe the real problem. They constantly talk about symptoms and that may be why they’re void of solutions.
I mean apart from the voice, which is basically a power/money grab for the city dwelling Aboriginals. Those living remotely are keeping the cultural fire burning which will ensure the voice‘s longevity. They will get paid for the photo shoots the same as the smoking ceremonies and welcome to country dancers, but it will be the city folks and the 55% of Aboriginals who have European, Chinese, American etc blood coursing through their veins who will benefit.

That’s a big ‘May’. Looks like the yes team getting worn down by sound logic?

It's not the same as ATSIC, which was funded to enact their ideas, not just recommend them.

My problem is that it's pointless. All the govt need to do is fund an advisory group. The committee could do everything that Voice advocates claim the Voice will do.

The only difference is that a future Coalition govt might prefer a different approach and could disband the committee. So this referendum is about Labor controlling the future actions of the Liberal Party - and Albo wondered why he couldn't get bipartisan support. For that reason alone, the Voice was already dead at birth,

Create a committee and make sure that the funding goes into helping struggling remote communities and not the city elites. And not just carelessly throw the money at those communities. That's where good advice would be helpful - how to fund assistance programs that actually do something useful, rather than flushing dollars down the toilet.

Given that billions have been spent each year on Aboriginal affairs, and advocates claim that nothing has changed, then there should be an inquiry into the waste of massive amounts of public funds. Then again, Yes advocates could be playing games. I expect there have been success stories in some communities that are not being told so that that invaluable victim status can keep the bucks rolling in.

Who is getting all those billions spent on Aboriginal affairs for decades??

American elections are entertaining if nothing else.
Some of those rallies Trump ran were great lol…

This is the real issue and it’s an issue that the Voice will bandage over.
A list of the number of agencies, bodies, corporations etc that deal with these funds was posted about 60 pages back…
It’s outrageous how many there are.
Audit them. Make the findings public. Then we can discuss adding to them.
