if i understand correctly, the problem is turf toe.
maximum time on sideline for this sort of injury is 3 months.
but he could also be back next week.

the media headlines suggest he's definitely gone for the 3 months, which is false. because they have no idea until the scan results. it could be true, but it would be a lucky guess for them.

just wanted to clear it up for people who think he's definitely gone for the 3 months. its not the case (yet - touch wood)

Wests Tigers five eighth Benji Marshall will tomorrow learn the result of scans on the toe he injured during Monday night's loss to Melbourne Storm.

Marshall was injured during the first half, but finished the game as Wests Tigers put in an improved performance against top of the table Melbourne.

Wests Tigers coach Mick Potter is hopeful Marshall will be able to take the field for Sunday's blockbuster Heritage Round match against St George-Illawarra.

I think the boot is pre cautionary. Lots of people with no idea making assumptions.
Team doctor isn't even sure and won't be until tomorrow. I think it would be a shame because he will have an impact vs Saints I have a feeling.
Sterlo on the rush hour said he was the reason we imploded from that cut out pass when nothing was on that led to some tries.

X2

I think we can play without Marshall we arent as dependant on him as we once were, but I'd still take him at 5/8 any day of the week he can do anything on his day,and with that comes a bit of the old rocks and diamonds scenario

Sterlo is wrong. We never 'imploded' at all…we ran out of gas as the refs had us running backwards all game against one of the leagues best attacking sides. Really hope Benji can come back quicker than some are reporting. He is vital. We do still rely on him...this year we have score 14 tries so far Marshall has set up 3 of them and scored 3 of them. Only Farah has had a similar impact setting up 5.

like many other commentators, starting to give sterlos opinion on the game very little weight. he's becoming like Marty johns

still like Joey though he "keeps it pretty real. "
