Retention Pre/Post 2005

I was watching last nights 'chooseday' match from 2001 between the dragons and us at LO and I noticed that only two players from that game (Buckets and Galea) played in the 2005 GF. Fast forward to 2010 and we still have several (Farah, Benji, Gibbs, Fulton, Rhino, Payten, Skando, Fitzy) players at our club that featured in 05\. It's great to see that players now want to stay on at our club. Good times.

The Drag Queens still have a couple going around from that 2001 match.

No doubt the reason that so many have stayed on is because they won a premiership at such a young age.

I think that's obviously because there were very few players in the 2001 side the club deemed worth keeping through to 2005, where as the 2005 side was full of young players who'd proven themselves capable of winning a premiership.

I suppose all you can do is laugh now Geo… We really failed to capitalise on the funding given to us. Oh well, we still have 2005 and we've been building back up since then.

St Merge have been amongst it since their merger and still can't crack a premiership.
