ROBBIE FARAH: 'OUR FANS ARE PART OF OUR FAMILY'

Wests Tigers Captain Robbie Farah has spoken about the amount of pride the team receives from their passionate supporters.
With 2012 Wests Tigers Membership now available, Farah has explained the feeling he and his team-mates get from the incredible support from Members and fans.
“I’m not just saying this because I’m a Wests Tigers fan but I do believe we have got the best fans in the competition. They travel no matter where we play,’’ Farah said.
“Running out at Leichhardt in front of a packed hill, a packed crowd at Campbelltown, or a large crowd at the SFS, there is no better feeling.
“When we played the first semi-final against St George at ANZ Stadium, there were Wests Tigers Members who went out there the day before the game to put up their banners and flags. It made us feel proud to know they were behind us.
“I know our Membership numbers are around the 10,000 mark and it would be great if we could challenge the membership numbers of other clubs.
“Our crowds are always the biggest in Sydney and as captain, I would love for all those fans to convert to a membership.”
Farah has experienced first hand the amount of joy a Wests Tigers Membership brings.
“All of my family are Members. They have the same seats for every home game,’’ he said.
“They have gotten to know the people around them because every Member sits in the same seat at our home grounds.
“It is just like one big family. They know those faces now and they are all like a part of the Wests Tigers family.
“That’s the way we, as players, see them. Our fans are part of our family.
“We wouldn’t be there each year if it wasn’t for them. The Members go through the highs and lows with us.
“Even through the tough times, our fans are always there. They stick by us. Even after we got knocked out of the competition after the Warriors game, so many fans came up to me and said ‘thank you’ for the year even though we lost. They told me how proud they were to support this team.
“I like to think we are a pretty good team to follow even though we do give our Members and fans some grey hairs at times.
"We work hard, we play with passion, and I think our fans appreciate that.”
