The 2023 squad is definitely a huge improvement on what we had for 2022. Should be able to challenge for the top 8. At this stage I’d have us somewhere between 12th and 8th. Unless the last two spots are taken up by elite players.

Obviously the halves and fullbacks will have to have big seasons to expect to be re- signed in 2024.

Ur 1st list 1-28 , well I hate too say this but 18 to 28 are made up of very average NSW cup players , or unproven kids who may make it or not , so injuries could kill us if we have to involve some of these players .

Good work KR.. Great thread

That’s what I was getting at lol…
New fullback, new halves…then I’ll agree we’re on the up.
I agree.
Unfortunately the way managers and contracts go they can't click their fingers.
I like the fact that we got our salary cap in order but didn't go out and blow it blindly.
The forwards are building nicely and I'm sure the delay in recruiting two more is due to the new cap being finalized.
I must agree that it's our backs now that's missing a Moses and a Manu type player. Interesting times ahead 🤔

Very disappointing to have so many positions already filled for 2024. We don't know if half of them will be guest grade standard, too many gambles, especially in the backs.

and....

That is FINE.

Our biggest battle has been we brought talent for Very good coin that was...
Below average.

I don't need to name the Cleary signings that did not start, nor the Madge signings that were way below their pay grade in performance. (Madge did though sign some great cheaper players.

I mean I would like a great up/n/coming junior. aka the next SBW/Israel/latrell/whatever.
Yet those guys tend to get needy and waste cap space. Were not ready to manage them yet.

These Juniors are fine to add extra for injury cover.
18. Starford To'a
19. Tommy Talau
20. Alex Seyfarth
21. Asu Kepaoa
22. Junior Tupou

The above haven't proven themselves in first grade yet. Hopefully they will step up. Seyfarth has a long way to go to be truly first grade. Yet Benchwarmers they are fine and I hope they up their game to threaten the Big 17.
